While there may some truth to this, its not all about race. What Cam Newton and/or his dad did was much worse than just autographs and he got no punishment. Dez Bryant was a punk, he was left out to dry by his school. These other 2 players were needed by their respective schools, so Auburn and A&M did everything they could to keep them eligible. Ok St had had enough of Bryant and let the NCAA kick him off their team.

Terrell Pryor did not get suspended immediately, he was allowed to play in the BCS Bowl game, even though he was found guilty. All he had to agree to was to not play in the first few games where OSU plays patsies. Pryor and the rest of the OSU players got special treatment.

It comes down to money....The SEC brings in the most money.....The NCAA needed Cam to play in the National Title Game....The NCAA needs Manziel to play against Alabama.....Cam and Manziel have a lot more star power than Dez Bryant who was just a WR in a conference not named the SEC...

Does the SEC get preferential treatment? Some would argue yes, but they also bring in the most money.

The SEC Title Game is always one of the biggest football games of the year....

It doesn't matter if they are black, white or purple the NCAA opens themselves up to lawsuits by both the school and the Manziel family if they aren't able to justify a major suspension. It's why the NCAA and the school negotiated this weak penalty. All parties agreed.
