My 2 cents on this topic.
Personally, I enjoy capping baseball and have had some success over the years when I had the time required to research the many items involved in my method of handcapping regular season MLB.
However I have never been able to apply that method to preseason baseball because of the fact that I feel there are to many unknowns involved in an exibition game, especially involving lineup changes within the game itself.
IMHO MLB Spring Training wagering is strictly a crap shoot.
I see very little difference between preseason MLB, NHL, NBA or NFL when it comes to trying to legitimately handicap any of those games. Teams are almost always looking at players that may or may not ever play at the highest level of their particular sport.
Many preseason players are unkown commodities from a handicapping standpoint or in other words (especially in baseball) have no playing history to judge them by.
Scalpers, middlers, line change followers may differ with me and I understand why.
Best of luck to anyone who does wager on preseason MLB.
