As a Red Sox fan I appreciate what you did, but you were well paid all along in your years in Boston and only left Cleveland for more money from the Red Sox.

Then you quit on the Red Sox in the pennent race last year. The extent of which is public enough that no team other than LA wants to pay you now. The Red Sox players badly wanted Manny to be traded, in a vote.

How Boston got Jason Bay out of that deal I will never know. Dodgers got a huge headache, Pirates got a minor leaguer or two and a bag of balls, Red Sox got Jason Bay.

Now Manny and his stupid slash super agent are negotiating themselves out of the only team that wants them, LA. 45 million over two years and Manny turns it down. Bad economy, no one else wants him, 4 offers from the Dodgers rejected.

meanwhile, in the real world...

In A Perfect World

no one would sign this piece of shit. We all know how badly my Twins need a RH stick. I wouldn't take the pennant right now, if I had to take this arrogant, ignorant asshole. Hope Borass ^^:)burns in hell.

I have to respectfully disagree. Yeah Borass is an idiot, but any team that is not willing to pay Manny 2 years/$50 million is making a big mistake. The amount of revenue that he will add to a team is estimated at $15 million per year, so in reality you are only paying him $10 million per. Not to mention that we are talking about one of the greatest hitters in the history of the game who can turn many teams into a playoff contender, with a possible shot of winning the world series. Factor in the amount of increased revenue with a playoff appearance and the fact that the idea in baseball is to compete for a championship, which many owners often seem to forget, and it is the way to go imo. Yeah you have to put up with his nonsense, but take a look at his career stats year in and year out, and its not even a question.

Isn't Boras the one that invested his players money in the stanford group and some of them can't even pay their bills due to their accounts are frozen. What a Agent he is.

I will never forget Boras announcing Alex Rodriguez had opted out of his contract with the New York Yankees before Game 4 of the 2007 World Series. Total scum.

Hes also a multi-millionaire and almost always gets the best deals for his clients. This is why many of the big boy athletes use him. If I was an athlete he would be exactly what I wanted in an agent. If you guys disagree, then you are lying.

I think that the $15 mil depends on which team. I don't think he can add that much money to a team that will make the playoffs without him anyways.

I hope that the owner of the Dodgers knocks $1mil. per day off Mannys' offer till he either signs with them or to that "mystery" team that Boras is bullshitting about.

I say it all the time. Scott Boras is better at his job than Michael Jordan was at his.

When someone can get Darren Dreifort 5/55, coming of TJ Surgery and with a sub .500 record, he is great.

Say what you want about him, but he is by far and away the best at what he does.

Interesting tidbit about Dreifort :

A normally acerbic Los Angeles Times sports columnist, T.J. Simers, wrote sympathetically of Dreifort after a rough outing against the Marlins followed by disclosure of the new knee problem the following day: "Every time I saw the guy he looked sad, hanging his head as if he was ashamed to be paid so much for doing so little. Insiders say he was not only a workout freak, but the ultimate competitor who wanted to earn his keep only to be frustrated by a body that would not allow it. The Dodgers knew Dreifort had a sore hip, which prevented him from being a regular contributor and which put him at risk of injuring another part of his body while trying to compensate."

I have read alot on this too. Completely agree that Boras is a piece of crap. Manny is out of his mind and out in left field but this is old news. He will probably get his big money from the Dodgers and skip a lot of spring training to boot. Boy do I wish Boras and Many get screwed like Varitek did but unlikely though. Fingers crossed however.

Dodgers realize they can't low ball too much, even without another bidder, because Many might dog it if he feels underpaid. He is liable to do it anyway. He did it for the same money in Boston.

I dont remember what the Red Sox contrat was going to pay him this year which he walked away from, but I think it was $25 million.

Dodgers also offered 4 yrs 100 million which Boras said was not a serious offer.

as for Boras the genius agent, he mangled Variteks negotiation, isn't he the agent for Gay-Rod who poisoned things so badly with the yankees Gay-Rod went around him to the yankees directly?

His college kids, some teams wont draft because Boras is too much of a hard case. There is overplaying a hand, which Boras does.
