the colts' last game @ denver is 100% meaningless for them. they are locked into the #3 seed regardless of how they do.
if i am the colts - not only do i NOT play manning (and a few others) - i don't even bring them on the trip. if you bring manning on the trip - and don't play him - he stands on the sidelines all game long - IN DENVER! if i am the colts - there is NO WAY IN HELL i want manning standing on the sidelines in denver freezing his ass off.
i tell peyton "stay at home and enjoy a weekend of watching football on DirecTV!" if i need to - i make up some lame ass injury to keep him from flying - but NO WAY do i let him play or even make the trip.
and this has to be GREAT news for denver.
denver right now has the #6 seed and with a win over the colts - would keep that #6 seed. it would also set up a case of "deja vua all over again" like last season when denver killed the colts in week 15 to make the playoffs - week 16 was meaningless for denver so they rested everyone in GB and got KILLED - then went back to indy the next week and got killed. looks like denver and indy will once again play in one of the last weeks of the season - then in week 1 of the playoffs.
