Man receives $216,900 speeding ticket! TRUE STORY!

Helsinki Police gave a record $216,900 speeding ticket to a millionaire under a system in which traffic fines are linked to an offender`s income.

The Litalehti tabloid reported that millionaire Jussi Salonoja zoomed through the city center last weekend in a 25 MPH zone and police handed him the costly ticket...It didn`t say what his speed was...Salonoja was traveling on a motorcycle at the time....

The fine was based on information they got directly from the inland revenue office the report said!!! WOW!

And this is not the first time a ticket landing in the 6 figures has been handed out, the report also said!

LOL- I wonder if the same is true if you're unemployed, do you get like a $1.00 fine lol?

I strongly believe that this is how we should write laws in the USA.

The way it is right now, the penalty is not equal ac**** the social tiers.

A wealthy person can drive his Porsche 100 miles an hour, get a $500 ticket, and go on his merry way. A poor person may have to work for a month to make $500.

Wealth in America gives you a number of privileges such as a nice place to live, a nice car to drive, and much more. One thing it shouldn't give you is freedom to break laws with impunity... but in this country, that's what it does.

A wealthy person gets permission to break the law by "virtue" of his wealth. That is wrong.

wealthy or poor, with that $500 ticket comes points on your liscence. enough points and you dont get to drive anymore.

we live in a free market. why should a guy who works hard and gets ahead have to pay more than some lazy piece of shit that sits home all day collecting welfare???

A ticket should be a punishment. As David wrote $500 is nothing for a 27 years old millionaire hockey team owner, but for a average man who earns about $2 500/month before taxes and have kids is a lot money.

We don't have penalty points-system here and this is the only way to punish drivers here. If you drive too fast you lost your licesce for a while and if you get three speed tickets during a year you'll also lost license for a while.

Basically it's free, but we have a high taxation and if you go to a hospital you have to pay something. There is about $700 limit/calendar year and after that most of the services are free, but not all. I don't know USAs system well, but I am almost sure that we don't get healt services any cheaper than you get. The way Healt Care cost are covered are just different. In USA a citizen should take care of her/his healt insurance, but here it is goverment.

And about this speeding. This 27 years old millionaire didn't drove with a motorcycle. It was a Volvo. It's quite cold to drive with a motorcycle during a winter here. His speed was almost 50 MPH and.
