A week ago some lady from Russia hacked into my ebay at 6 in the morning I woke up and someone had ordered a $2 pair of socks from China thought it was the wife on eBay late turns out it wasn't five minutes later a pair of nylons were ordered... Then some makeup for $3 and I changed my password to block them out .....I go into eBay and she tried to send the distributor in China a broken English letter to change the address to some place in Russia... eBay refund me the $2 and I got a pair of nylons and a face mask at home... Moral is change your password peeps .. didn't change my eBay one for 3 years like an idiot.

The next thing is Russian was going to order was $150 purse but I booted her by changing password :smoking:

Good Info...At least with Gmail they can't spend your money or am I missing something... I never use my Gmail account anyway, but good to know. It's amazing that MORE of this type stuff isn't done... When you consider even Blue Cross computers were hacked and with medical information that's as good or better than a credit card for stealing your ID.

The password trial and error software they have is insanely advanced now. I’m someone who hates to change PWs and likes my PW being the same for everything too.

Not good!

I hate the entire orderal of passwords. You have to have so many different kinds and some require it to be changed so often, others require a capitol letter, others require numbers, others a symbol, and all of that. I have been locked out of so many things because of passwords.

And having the same password for everything can bite you in the ass as sooner or later a friend or family member will get your harmless password to something easy like wi fi but if you use the same pw for everything. Ugh.

Just yesterday I was putting app on phone and entered incorrect password for 10 minutes before I remembered. If you write it down on paper, people snoop around and get stuff that way too.

My gmail account got "spoofed" a couple months ago. It's annoying as hell sending my contacts random winning prize emails. It is just weird times it sends them out.

My IT guys there is nothing you can do. Would like another opinion.

Internet security will likely never be solved in our lifetimes completely for the average citizen. When major corporations can't keep the bad guys out what is it we are supposed to do. Watson can we do that?. "WE CAN DO THAT"
Sony, Blue Cross, even the credit agencies, list goes on and on..It's laughable.

Dante, for sure that's a great idea and helpful to a degree... But the crooks have the technology that's goes past simple fixes...Once they get a little useful information and target you or me as someone worth getting more info from it's just a matter of time before they get what they need...passwords.. They can run millions of computer simulations in minutes or hours if necessary to get what they need.
Medical records are gold, they contain SS numbers..Without your knowledge they can slowly become you... It's a matter of is it worth it to them...Most likely not

Thanks DP .. good info .. this was a Russian lady in some Providence in Russia as she sent a message to the place where she ordered the makup and nylons and socks to change addresses to send the stuff too.. but the place in China didn't do it.. the next item she was going to purchase was in the recently viewed items was a 150$ purse .. another thing people should not do is have PP always connected to there eBay like I did... Lost 6$ which was refunded to me ... But could have been more

The little crooks, always start small to see where they can go before detection.... With 5 Dimes and Bookmaker, I had fraud charges which ran from 8.99 to 600+... They were taken off, but I will never trust them again. With Intertops a small seemingly honest company, never an issue..
