Full List of Hillary’s Planned Tax Hikes

Hillary Clinton has made clear she intends to dramatically raise taxes on the American people if elected. She has proposed an income tax increase, a business tax increase, a death tax increase, a capital gains tax increase, a tax on stock trading, and an Exit Tax, and more (see below). Her planned net tax increase on the American people is at least $1 trillion over ten years, based on her campaign’s own figures.

Hillary has endorsed many tax increases on that would hit middle income Americans, despite her pledge not to raise taxes on any American making less than $250,000. She has said she would be fine with a payroll tax hike on all Americans, she has endorsed a steep soda tax, endorsed a 25% national gun tax, and most recently, her campaign manager John Podesta said she would be open to a carbon tax. It’s no wonder she said her $250,000 tax pledge was merely a “goal.”

Hillary’s $1 trillion net tax increase takes the form of several proposals:

Income Tax Increase – $350 Billion: Clinton has proposed a $350 billion income tax hike in the form of a 28 percent cap on itemized deductions.

Business Tax Increase -- $275 Billion: Clinton has called for a tax hike of at least $275 billion through undefined business tax reform. According to the Clinton campaign document, “Hillary will fully pay for these [Infrastructure] investments through business tax reform.”

“Fairness” Tax Increase -- $400 Billion: According to her published plan, Clinton has called for a tax increase of “between $400 and $500 billion” by “restoring basic fairness to our tax code.” These proposals include a “fair share surcharge,” the taxing of carried interest capital gains as ordinary income, and a hike in the Death Tax.

But there are even more Clinton tax hike proposals not included in the tally above. Her campaign has failed to release specific details for many of her proposals. The true Clinton net tax hike figure is likely much, much higher than $1 trillion.

For instance:

Capital Gains Tax Increase --
Clinton has proposed an increase in the capital gains tax to counter the “tyranny of today’s earnings report.” Her plan calls for an overly complex, byzantine capital gains tax regime with six brackets for those whose total taxable income puts them in the top 39.6 percent bracket. Her campaign has not said how much this will increase taxes.

Tax on Stock Trading --
Clinton has proposed a new, unquantified tax on stock trading. The tax increase would only further burden markets by discouraging trading and investment. Inevitably, costs associated with this new tax will be borne by millions of American families that hold 401(k)s, IRAs and other savings accounts.

“Exit Tax”
– Rather than reduce the extremely high, uncompetitive corporate tax rate, Clinton has proposed a series of measures aimed at inversions including an “exit tax” – on income earned overseas. The term “exit tax” is used by the campaign itself. This proposal would completely fail to address the underlying causes behind inversions. Her campaign document describing this proposal says it will raise $80 billion in tax revenue, but claims some of the $80 billion will be plowed into tax relief. It does not specify a dollar amount.

Today’s federal tax code does all the wrong things. It penalizes productivity, savings and investment, while rewarding inefficiency and designating winners and losers according to political whim.

For far too long, tax laws have been used not just as a means to collect needed revenues, but as a weapon with which to manipulate our behavior, create and destroy industries and fulfill politicians’ dreams of social engineering. The result is a tax code that is more than 70,000 pages long enforced by a government agency with almost 100,000 employees. It is nothing less than a massive deployment of government force on our lives, our finances and our freedom.
Governor Johnson advocates the elimination of tax subsidies, the double taxation embodied in business income taxes, and ultimately, the replacement of all income and payroll taxes with a single consumption tax that will allow every American and every business to determine their tax burden by making their own spending decisions. Taxes on purchases for basic necessities would be “prebated”, with all other purchases taxed equally regardless of income, status or purpose.
Many leading economists have long advocated such a shift in the way we are taxed, and Gary Johnson believes the time has come to eliminate the punishing tax code we have today and replace it with a system that rewards productivity, investment and savings. The IRS as we know it today would no longer be necessary, and Americans would no longer need to live in fear of the force of government being wielded under the guise of tax collection.

We used to pride ourselves on the fact that we didn't have to put up barriers to keep people from leaving for greener pastures.

Her speech was ridiculous.

She can't believe half that shit about free everything.

I diss Trump for being too populist and not fiscally conservative but he is Lincoln compared to her. We gotta go Trump now, it is a wrap.

I could only watch about 10 minutes of it, seem's like she was trying awfully hard to appeal to Bernie's cult maybe.

Nah I'd go Hillary over Vitterd. Hillary is legitimately pretty smart, I'm sure she knows much of that is BS.

Vitterd or the other commufascist feminazi islamo-sympathizing Alinsky-brainwashed people in the audience or whatever movement you would call that is the problem. She is just selling what they want to hear.

I get why many of them want to hear the socialism stuff, because the capitalism we've had in their lives has been a heavily bastardized version, but someone needs to explain to them why more government is not the answer in a powerful and persuasive way.

You would never get hired in my administration. Id be giving orders to kill terrorists and you'd be sitting there with an odds calculator and and algebra textbook telling me the expected value of the drone strike is less than 50 percent. More people will die because I listened but you will be telling me I made the right math decision.

Maybe I can find a park ranger post for you though.

Thanks, hopefully Zion. It is beautiful this time of year.

I'm just saying Vitterd it is deeply disturbing the direction the DNC is going. And I don't think it is Bernie-centric, it is a permanent shift.

I blame the Republicans for a huge, huge part of it. Rather than tout the merits of free-enterprise they want to nominate Donald Trump, talk about kenyan birtherism, talk about emails, talk about benghazi nonstop, talk about gay marriage and abortion, etc

When these clowns are your opposition then implementing a new economic system probably isn't as hard as it should be.

What makes you think she doesn't believe all that commie BS? She worked for Saul Alinsky and wrote her senior thesis on him entitled, "There is only one fight: An Analysis of the Alinsky Model."

You're right, freedom needs more foot soldiers.

Its not good but it's both parties. The republicans are setting themselves up as the white man party and democrats are the party of every other race. All it's doing is dividing everybody along racial lines.....it's not just the Democratic Party.....it's the Republican Party also. If Repubs nominated Rubio or Kasich.....things would be different. The divide is real

There is a difference between being an inclusive party that wants social and economic mobility for all and basically turning a political party into a wing of the ACLU. All different groups of people have different experiences in life. Black, hispanic, female, gay, etc

When you exclusively cater to the needs of those groups and sortof water down the dialogue to please every single constituency, that isn't a major political party to me. It is bordering on non-entity in a sane world.

All you are basically saying is that the Dems are good at identity politics and the Republicans are terrible at it, which I agree but it doesn't make any of the Dem platform or argument remotely legitimate.

Blacks, fags, kids that haven't started their careers, Hispanics receiving benefits, ultra rich Hollywood types, professors that didn't do well in the real world - but ur correct - they outnumber working people now
