Now I can give full attention to my second fav thing in baseball - hating the Red Sox. Look out BoSox, I will be in Detroit in August and actually vote for the Tigers.

they will find someone to blame...probably the media for putting too much pressure on the cubs. or, maybe the fat 3rd base coach for waiving in ramirez. or maybe the trainer for prior's elbow.

Like I said before season when I took under 93.5 for Cubs: "They are the Cubs and sooner or later every season they will remember this"
In a world of constant change its nice to have a pillar to hold on to!

the cubs under has to be the best bet on the board every year. i haven't done this but, if you look back the last 20 years, i bet you the under wins 70% +

They always seem to be over-bet by their delusionary fans. Every team has fans but more Cubs' fans seem to back it up with money for which I thank them! When they do eek their way into play-offs like last year its just another opp for profit in going against their inflated series lines like against Fla.
I have no way to prove this but why else would this sorry franchise get so much respect by the linesmakers. Of course, to listen to their irritating broadcasters they are a dynasty.

I dont know whats going on here now a days but it something fishy is going on. Prior out? Resting until September? They are not going to win the division but they are not going to lose the wild card either.

I still wouldnt want to face Prior Wood Zambrano Clement in a 7 game series.

I wouldnt mind facing Morris Carpenter Suppan Marquis if it was all for the marbles.

EDG, Prior threw a simulated game today and is scheduled to make his next start Sunday vs. Philadelphia.

I watched both Chicago games today and White Sox broadcasters are much worse homers imo than the Cubs' guys. Harrelson almost wanted to cry tonight when the Rangers scored two in the bottom of the 8th taking the lead to end up winning. I kind of enjoy Steve Stone at times, like most local broadcasters he is a homer but has a pretty decent handle on the game of baseball. I also watched the Mariners last night against the Red Sox and can't recall their names but the Seattle announcers are brutal.

I actually bet the Cubs over the total last year, total was alot lower. I wouldn't bury the Cubs yet, maybe the division but how many times have the Cards faced Wood or Prior. Hardly at all. If these two pitchers are healthy Cubs will have good chance to beat Cards in playoffs.Cubs hit their pitchers very well so they have the offense. The people out there saying same old Cubs, remember last years record is very similar to this years so far.Cards haven't exactly been world beaters in the last 20 years themselves in playoffs. They still don't have a starter that I would qualify as a #1

The one who has gotten no share of the blame - Dusty Baker, will have to be accountable very soon. Has no control of the team right now. Easy to point fingers at everyone else but Dusty is the main reason. Brutal in-game strategy but the players play hard for him. Only difference between him and Jimy Williams is that Williams is white.

the cubs are done playing the cards this year so "how many times have the cards faced prior or wood" doesn't matter. they are 10 games back and cannot score runs. they are done...no matter if prior comes back or not.
