Major computer problem, help !

Hate to say this but it sounds like your hard drive may be fucked. The disk error may be referring to you hard C: drive. If thats the case there is nothing you can do.

DougJ, if you can't get into SAFE MODE, you are fawked, but there is hope, you can goto Best Buy and have their data recovery people get what ever you need, then you will have to formatt... The data recovery is like $80 (steep) but if you want your stuff it's the only way..

Exactly Chop. Time to boot it up from a boot disk & start copying what you need off of the drive......and then go from there.

microsft has a patch fix for system 32DLL errorstrendmicro is the way to go. both antivirus and spyware too.

problem seems rectified, wasn't easy at all, took 2 strong geeks 2 hours on phone ( talking to each other),to fix this mess, way over my abilities. One computer geek at my place , the stronger one on phone. Strong geek is like an engineer, only lacking some paper to prove it.
