I despise these things!

What is the freaking purpose?

Why can't the company you are purchasing from just make it simple & discount you at that very moment?!?

I understand that sometimes a 3rd party is involved, but the one who is actually selling to the public should make the discounted ahead of time with that 3rd party.

I wanted to purchase a new phone this weekend, but saw the promotion included a "$100 Mail-In Rebate" which scared me away because I've already been screwed over by Sprint less than a year ago on one of these things.......

Takes 5 minutes and a little discipline while watching a game.

An undercover opeation on rebate companies was done in Phoenix a few years back. Employees were encouraged to say "the rebate was lost, send proof of purchase again" and other such bullshit excuses. They make their money by getting you to jump through hoops until you just figure it's not worth the hassle.

I refuse to buy a product that requires a rebate. I can always find the same thing online without a rebate.

I have done a few Rebates over the years, and have never been beat.

Verizon, I thought was very easy. Don't know how Sprint is, never used them.

I never had a big problem, but the rebate has to be worth a fair amount to bother with it. I don't do $2-3 rebates, but will do $50 ones, maybe even $10

rite aid has them online all you do is enter the receipt # and they mail you a check. otherwise it is mostly not worth it, how many times you fill out all that stuff and mail it in and a couple months later wonder whatever happened to that rebate?

That is nice. I believe Walgreens allows this too.

Agreed that it has to be worthwhile.

I've had problems twice now with receiving rebates from Sprint.

1st time couple years ago to 2-$50 rebates, and the same again this year.

I thought it would be simple enough for the them to look into your account, see the purchases were made, and have verification on whether or not a rebate has been issued for that account or not.

They said "It doesn't work like that"...............LOL
