Suppan strained a rib-cage muscle on July 27 and went on the DL, and he struggled in a pair of rehab starts at Class A Wisconsin and Triple-A Nashville. In seven innings, he allowed nine runs on 13 hits, seven of them for extra bases. In his most recent start, he pitched two perfect innings for Nashville but then allowed four runs in the third inning and another in the fourth before he was removed. Suppan hasn't pitched for Milwaukee since getting rocked by Washington on July 27, when he allowed 10 runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings of a 14-6 setback.
