Most of you know of the DOCUMENTED success I had in bases the last 2 seasons. In 2003 I posted all my baseball plays right here at the RX and they were tracked everyday by a fellow poster. I finished atop the 2003 MLB Challenge by a wide margin. This season I posted most of my plays elsewhere and they were ALL documeted daily. Amazingly, I finished the 2004 season at an even better clip than my 2003 season. Even counting plays as 1 unit I finished with a profit of over 50 units. Once again, thats counting the plays at just 1 unit a pop. I wont post my 2004 record here because I know that people will get upset and argue that since I didnt post my plays here I have no right to flaunt my results here either. I accept that and, therefore, will only re-post my results from 2003 and you'll just have to take my word (or anyone else's word that has followed my plays throughout this season), that once again I had a superb season.

My record last season (2003) -- documented.

http://forum2.therx.com/showthread.php?t=154067&highlight=CHALLENGE

2003:
MadCapper____391-361___+46.26 units___+80.03 units

That was 2003. Believe it or not 2004 was even more impressive.

Anyway, the reason for the long introduction is to give people the choice whether to follow my championship series and world series plays or not. I don't want to just post my plays and have people follow them blindly. I want people to have confidence in my plays and I am hoping that my documented success gives them confidence in my capablities.

One last thing....If you speak to professional handicappers, they will tell you that bases is the hardest sport to cap. I will not go into the many reasons now. I will post my plays soon. I hope no one will want to kill me if tonight's plays lose. At the same token, I hope no one will adore me if tonight's plays cash in. Remember the only thing that counts is whats in your pocket at the end of the season. Treat these series like a marathon, not a sprint. I have confidence that I will be PLUS units for the A.L. and N. L. Championship Series and the World Series....you will too!

Play #1:

Yankes +1.5 -120 (4 units)

Schilling is superb. In the 2001 World Series he had a 1-0 record with a 1.69 era. Although he has been very good against the Yankees since....he has been hittable. Here is a deeper look at some of his numbers: He is 3-2 with a 4.72 ERA in 10 games against the Yankees. He is 0-1 with a 3.72 ERA in three career games at Yankee Stadium. He went 2-0 with a 4.82 ERA against the Yankees in 2004.

Mussina has been the Yanks best pitcher BY FAR since Mid August. He is 8-2 with a 3.94 ERA in 13 home starts this season. He went 1-1 with a 3.50 ERA in three starts against Boston this season. Mussina lost twice to the Red Sox in last year's ALCS, posting a 4.11 ERA in three appearances.

From the numbers it seems that both these pitchers can be dominant at times, but against this same opposition they have been hittable. Schilling had a 4.82 era against the Yankees this year and Mussina had a 3.50 era against Boston this season. Oddly enough Schilling was 2-0 while The Moose was 1-1 (he beat Pedro 11-1).

I foresee a very tight game tonight. I think the team that scores LAST will win the game and I also see that last run coming late, probably against the bullpen. Therefore, I am taking the Yankees +1.5. I believe this will either be a Yankees 1 run win or a Red Sox 1 run win.

The Play:

Yankees +1.5 -120 (4 units)

Like the insurance run at a small premium. GL, I am on the Yanks to win outright, but may look into hedging a bit by taking the 1.5 for half the intended bet and laying the other half on the Yanks +127.

GL to us.

Wow, is it up that high already???? I will get hosed because I live in NY, and I am sure my local book will have a smaller line, but let's cash anyway as a W is a W.

Where did you get the starting lineups from? Thanks for the help.

Why would you not have posted your plays here this year and go and post them somewhere else where they are seen by about one/tenth the amount of people than would have seen them here?

Hey Hitman,

How are you? Thanx for the question. Its a valid question, but I can not get into that now. There were a few reasons for my decision. I have no regrets.

I figured there was more to it. All I can say is I hope next year you post your plays here where they will be seen and appreciated by many.

I watched your plays but I'm more of a sclaper these days in baseball. There is nothing like watching a baseball game rooting for one side to win and if the other side wins I break even. I will give you credit, you are on the "right" (way ahead of the moves) side far more times than you are not.

Very very true. If i had more of a following we'd be the ones moving the lines.

Thats exactly right my friend. I think it will be a 1 run game. How does 4-3 or 5-4 sound? :)
