MAC Experts: Buffalo @ Akron?

If I played anything it would probably be the over...

The MAC is tough to call this year due to how inconsistent the conference has been.....especially a team like UB....

Really like the Zips on Thurs. This is the last game ever in the Rubber Bowl and although the players might not be sentimental about it, there will be a few more fans than normal at the game, with a bit more buzz than usual. Zips are heading to a beautiful stadium downtown next year.

Akron is playing for an east title as well and has one of the better D's in the east and can create buffalo TO's. I like Gill and Buff. but it'll be a big surprise if they can keep this game within 10 points.

The stats I look at say Buff, but the psyche stuff is for Akron (see Chi Town's post). Ergo, a no-bet for me. GL

Looking at the weather it looks like it will be in the mid to high 30s and raining. Not a good combo for each team to score in the 30s IMO.

Akron has absolutely NO home field advantage......high school games get bigger crowds in that stadium then the zips get. Sure they may be more people at this game, but not the 35k needed to fill that place up.

Akron's "D" may be the difference.

Interesting to see that some point out that Akron's defense may be the difference despite the fact that Buffalo is statistically a slightly better defensive team.

The Zips have been poor against the run and face Starks tonight who is a very talented RB. Gotta take the points with the Bulls tonight. It should be a very entertaining matchup.

My gf is no pro... but she said play AKRON last nite... lol. I'm not sure which way i'd go here tonight... the home teams have been taking all the midweek games it seems.

Actually the weather tonite in Akron will be quite ideal for scoring. Nice Fall football night IMO. Playing over 59 here as I can see a 38-35 type game with these two, prolly be a couple big snap-off running plays on this track. Gl all Pats tonite 24-13, I'll be at this one tonite trying to stay dry.

Buffalo is on a mission right now to win the MAC East with Akron and like their balance better than Akron.The Rubber Bowl is a dump with no real home field advantage for Akron tonight as place will be half full tonight and thats being generous been like that for years.

Tonight, the University of Akron will play its final game in the Rubber Bowl, which it bought from the city for $1 in 1971. The University's new $61.6 million InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field is scheduled to open Sept. 19.

with last game are they bringing the Charlie Frye's and Jason Taylor's of the world back or no big deal?
