Lurker wonders what happened?

Hi. I've been lurking here for what seems a hell of long time, but decided to start posting - at last!

What I was wondering is this: every summer the newsgroups are full of people talking about book software companies. Some coming up and some going down. When the season starts, the posters just disappear, not to be heard of again until the end of the next season.

Is this because the posters are shills for the software companies trying to play out their little battles in public, or is it just that the summer is the time when books change their software and players closely follow what is happening. All seems strange to me.

YUP SHILLS THEY ARE.....Heck stay away form IQ, and one should never have a software problem IMO

IB: jeez, I certainly don't work for a software company! No, I use their s**t, for my sins. There's more newbies from CR? Wouldn't know about that, but the same ol faces seem to be here, so maybe rumour's of CR's decline are premature? ;-)
