"Lakers suck on defense" exaggerated. For season 11th in points allowed. Last 11 games they are 4th. Thats w/o AD

Lakers will add multidimensional rim protector, rebounder in next 24 hours.

Lakers 9-2 L 11. 1 game back of Den 4th (home series) 2 games back of Hou 3rd who has lost 4 straight.

Lakers very little/no chance of winning it all. But I like their odds of winning a series, maybe 2.....if everyone stays healthy.

If they are able to add a half-decent rim protector, then they absolutely can contend this year

It's wide open. OKC having a great regular season, but Lakers should match up pretty well with them. Everyone else in the West is very beatable.

Luka/LeBron going to be very difficult for teams to guard

lakers add 7'2" mike williams. 23 y/o. 2 seasons at Duke.

HE HAS THE HIGHEST STANDING FLATFOOT REACH. GREATER THAN WEMBY. NINE FEET NINE INCHES. 3'' BELOW RIM. 7'2 245. 7'7 WINGSPAN

HES NOT YET A DOMINANT RIM PROTECTOR. BUt hES SOLID AROUND THE RIM, LOBS, SCREENS OFFENSIVELY. THIS MAY GET LEBRON TO PLAY 2 MORE YEARS. Hes signed for 26.

Williams is really good offensively when he plays but always hurt and who knows how good he can be on D...Although being on the Hornets, barely a NBA team, tough to do much defensively

Nice move for Lakers though. It'll be interesting to see how much LeBron changes his game to play with Luka or if they just take turns, which I don't think would be the ideal way to play.

Luca is scheduled to make his debut Monday, Davis tomorrow (Saturday)… at the moment neither is available on national tv… I hope that can change somehow… not sure about Mavs game tomorrow, probably too many eyes to dot and tee’s to cross but hopefully Mondays Lakers game!!

They initially moved Lakers/Pacers to National TV tomorrow but then Luka pushed debut to Monday . Wonder if they’ll shift coverage

Gonna be pretty challenging without AD unless Williams makes a huge leap. Just tough to build a team around a new star on the fly mid season, ask the suns.

But I think power rated 3rd is right in the west. I can’t put these other teams over them.

Given lebron is gonna be almost 42 by the time Luka would be playing yr 1 of his new deal, I do wonder if this is a Dwight Howard/Kobe Bryant situation where 1 guy is old so the other doesn’t stick around too long if the team is too thin.

Williams, was doing 20-10 recently. He'll be an offensive asset this year. Forcing defenses to stay inside. With his size and wingspan, 7'7'' I believe he'll grow into a rim protector. But he isn't now. But at 23, I like his odds. 2 big talents younger than 25. Lakers set for a while. If lakers stay healthy, This year they could win a series or two. And with Lebron, hachimura, Luka, Williams and Reaves. Could be fun.

Yesterday I read LA's odds to win it all, were 5th best

2024-25 NBA Finals winner:

Oklahoma City Thunder: +230 (bet $10 to win $33 total)
Boston Celtics: +240 (bet $10 to win $34 total)
Cleveland Cavaliers: +750 (bet $10 to win $85 total)
New York Knicks: +950 (bet $10 to win $105 total)
Denver Nuggets: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
Los Angeles Lakers: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)

Anyone want to guess what they were 10 days ago?

BOL 2 to all on their SB wagers

Williams trade rescinded. He failed his physical. This is unfortunate, but it'll be nice getting Knecht back. Williams is a rim runner, but not a rim blocker. Reality is trade deadline 'big trades' often don't hit until the following year. So lakers win a series or two, then they can focus on the big presence in the middle, in the off season.

I'll bet the Dal fans are really loving the Luka trade now. AD is great. But too brittle.

BOL on your sb action

Anthony Davis out multiple weeks with adductor strain.

Dallas Mavericks star power forward/center Anthony Davis is expected to sit out multiple weeks because of a left adductor strain, sources told ESPN on Sunday night.
His absence could stretch to a month, sources said, because of an injury that cut short his spectacular debut with his new franchise. Davis, the headliner of the Mavs' return from the controversial trade of 25-year-old superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, exited Saturday's win over the Houston Rockets with 1:37 left in the third quarter after recording 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocks in 31 minutes.
He was ruled out of Monday's home game against the Sacramento Kings when the Mavs released the evening injury report.
Davis, 31, downplayed concern about the injury postgame, saying he was "very confident" that it was not a significant setback. Davis sat out the previous five games -- his final three with the Lakers and first two with the Mavs -- because of an abdominal strain.
"Just the leg got tight, like a little spasm," Davis said Saturday. "Just came back and tried to get it loose and everything. Obviously, dealing with the ab strain still, so just tried to get it loose. It wouldn't really loosen up and let go, but it's nothing serious. I'm fine."
Starting forward P.J. Washington, who sat out the second half of the win over the Rockets because of a sprained right ankle, was listed as questionable against the Kings. Key reserves Max Christie (right shoulder strain) and Dante Exum (left Achilles tightness) are also questionable.

Davis has missed alot of games over his career with various injuries. This would be the main reason to not make this trade. Trading for an older injury prone player doesn't make much sense to me, no matter how you rationalize it.
Not a surprise I had this one pegged
