The strange part is they never even opened this up to the other 29 teams .

So there is a lot more going on besides Dallas not wanting to give him a super max .

They are doing this for the NBA in return for some kind of favor .

The Dallas ownership is heavy in the sports betting scene and Texas does not have legal sports betting .

Is this a way to get sports betting in Texas somehow ?

Maybe this trade puts the mavs in good graces with the league and they would approve a move to Vegas if Texas does not approve casinos and sports betting ?

There has to be a lot more to this then just not wanting to give a super max to Luca .

And even if Luca is a dick . This still is not a reason not to open the trade market to the over 29 teams and get max value .

Led the league in minutes but has a “conditioning problem” . Team was rated 8th in defense with him out there too

averages over 30 Ppg in the playoffs

Could’ve gotten a lot more for him too

I’d wanna see the final team after trade deadline, but not even sure I like Mavs chances to make the playoffs this year after the deal. They will have to battle in the west.

The team was really built around Luka, a lot of their roleplayers don’t fit as well I don’t think.
