How do you feel about the game that was just played in Tiger stadium?

Normally I wouldn't do this but your posts have really encouraged me to post these:

Week one 5* selection
My top play of week one will be CLEMSON -5.5

Here is an in depth review of Alabama, an the resoning behind my selection.

Bama Offense
returning 10 starters with the entire offensive line. The only position missing was a WR and it looks like Nikita Stover or Julio Jones will be filling that role. They can move the ball . I expect JP Wilson to have a decent year. He’s a Senior and typically even Seniors at Vandy have good years. I have always felt when the pressure is on, he folds like a tent and in big games, I expect that to continue. You can improve on reads and throws but decision making when it’s on the line never improves. You either have it or you don’t. JPW does not have it.

Their o-line is fairly weak when going against a good defensive front. I feel Caldwell the center is the best lineman on the team, not Andre Smith who is grossly overrated. He’s consistent and he’s the vocal leader of their team. The offense will go as Terry Grant the RB goes. If he goes down with an injury, they have problems. They have Glen Coffee but that’s about it. They can catch out of the backfield and under McElwain (the new OC), this will be huge for their offense. Overall, the offense returns some most of the players but they are not very strong. JPW is rhythmic. If he’s hot, it’s a good offense because he will reel off some passes in a row. If he’s not in a rhythm, he struggles. Mclewain is unlike most OC’s in that his goal is to run up the middle, throw the out, and then pull the trigger on his goal which is to work the middle of the field between the seams with passes. He throws to the TE more than any coach in the conference. He wants to put the ball between the safeties and lber’s and in the SEC, you will get your wr’s strung up with some of these safeties. This was not a good hire. He wants the ball in Grant’s hands most of the time and loves to run him on a wheel route out of the backfield.

Bama Defense
Returns 6 starters with 2 on the defensive line and 2 at lb and 2 at db. They are running a 3-4 and here is why:

DL- worst in the conference and may go down as the worst in Alabama’s history. They were shoved around during spring by their offensive line and it is expected that they will give up a ton of rushing yards this year. Clemson’s duo should have a field day here. No good players to talk about here. Although, they have decided to put a 350 or 400 lber at NG to plug between the guards.

LB- McClain is back, but Jimmy Johns is not….he’s tied up right now. It is expected freshman Jerrell Harris will start at 1 lber and Ezekial Knight at the other or Prince Hall. So many suspensions and injuries here, nobody knows who’s playing. McLain almost killed himself on a motorcycle accident so who really knows who will be here.

DB- All 4 have playing time. Javier Arenas and Kareem Jackson will man the corners and Justin Woodall and Rashad Johnson will man the safeties.
Overall, this defense can defend the pass in the secondary. What they can’t do is stop the run or get a rush. They have major problems and even Nick calling the plays can’t help them. Kirby Smart is not a DC and I predict Nick will be logging extra hours this year to help cover Kirby’s weaknesses.

My prediction for Bama's season is losses to Clemson in Atlanta, at Georgia, at Tennessee, at LSU, Mississippi State at home (because they can’t stop the run) and Auburn for the 7th year in a row. Traveling to Arkansas is not a lock and with Houston’s love for running and their inability to stop it, makes Ole Miss a tough one too. Tulane, Western Kentucky, and Arkansas State are the only 3 sure wins but hey, so was ULM last year. People can predict things all day long but I have a gut feeling that this may be a long year in Tuscaloosa. BTW, if JPW goes down, you haven’t seen problems. His back-up Greg Mcelroy wouldn’t QB ULM this year.

Bama is in for a long night this Saturday.

Georgia is clearly the better team and is better than Bama at practically every single position on the field. AND, they're deeper than Bama too.

Bama being ranked in the top ten is just a terrible joke.

LSU's defense is better than Florida's...that is fact. Uf has a good bunch of athletes too, but LSU's defense is better and has been better for years.

Auburn's offense scored 13 points against LSU. How do you consider that "exposing" them? That's like me saying Ole Miss exposed the gators because they hung 31 on them. And, don't point to games like Miss. state. Everyone knows LSU sleep-walked through that game because of their consistent dominance over that opponent. They never blitzed one time and ran a base package all night....because they could do it and win easily.

How can you say LSU's defense can't cover anyone? You haven't seen them PLAY anyone but Auburn and they covered them pretty well.

Hey, I know you love the Gators and think Tebow can win the game all by himself, so let's just agree to disagree.

This game being in Tiger Stadium is huge. Particularly given that LSU hasn’t played a game of real significance at home yet this season, and the city of Baton Rouge is absolutely itching for one. Couple that with the beginnings of an identity forming with LSU’s team last week in Columbia - the slow emergence of the deep ball as part of the Tigers’ offensive arsenal, the rebirth of Keiland Williams as a major cog in the running game and Charles Scott getting a shot at reprising some of Jacob Hester’s role as a multitalented fullback in certain situations, the Express package and the defensive line’s coming back as a major force, and you’ve now got the beginnings of an LSU team that after some disruptions early in the season and some spotty play at times could be ready to begin putting forth its best football. Certainly Georgia will be a motivated team, and the Bulldogs are very talented with a lot of weapons. There are a few weaknesses on that club, but they’re not pronounced …..and other than a game against Alabama where they played a terrible half of football similar to LSU’s clunker in Gainesville, they’ve been very productive this year. But Georgia doesn’t really do the things which have hurt LSU this year. As good as Moreno is, the Tigers can stop a tailback. And while their receivers are strong, LSU’s cornerbacks so far look like they can hold their own with almost anybody on the flanks - it’s the secondary-type receivers (the back out of the backfield, the tight end or the slot receiver) who have given them more trouble. Georgia doesn’t really have a guy who’s a big threat there. And worse, their line isn’t very good - which means LSU might very well get pressure on Stafford with a four-man rush, and if that happens Georgia isn’t going to move the ball much. I'm not going to predict LSU will run the ball with great success Saturday, but if Vandy could go for four yards per carry the Tigers ought to at least be able to approximate what they did last week in Carolina. And if they can do that, the advantage of the Tiger wide receivers on the flanks on Georgia’s cornerbacks could really open things up for Jarrett Lee to make a name for himself. John Parker Wilson was 13 of 16 for over 200 yards against Georgia, and Wilson doesn’t have anything close to the weapons in the air game Lee has. Most of all, though, it’s the fact this is a home game.

I will start out this week's discussion with this one point, but will get into match-ups later in the week.

If I love Bama and I can't wait to bet on them every week, I unload on them this week at ONLY -3.

Now, if I have been handicapping for ANY reasonable length of time, I look at this line and say what in the fuck am I missing here? The #1 team playing some team that has been blown out and is starting a freshman QB....and the line is only -3.

You Bama lovers better wake up and try not to gobble up what Vegas is feeding you.

Regardless of what the Vegas power rankings projected, 99% of the betting public saw that -3 line as too low and a gift.

Normally I wouldn't do this but you have been such an ASS in regards to Alabama football that I had to. A simple "I was wrong" would be fine.

I know I was wrong in regards to how this team would perform. Should be an interesting end to the year.

Are you man enough to admit you were very wrong?

these are all former quotes by LSU PETE.

I actually like LSU PETE. But this year he has become very negative towards the Alabama program. Hopefully he will understand he has become very biased and start posting some winners like he use to years ago.
