My point was that Love was a big plus to cover the huge spread.
Even if he did not have a good game, his offensive threat would help take pressure off LeBron, he would get rebounds, provide a stronger front line rotation wise, etc.
Love played 39 minutes, scored 21 points (9-20 from the field), and got 13 rebounds. He contributed very very significantly. It mattered.
They covered the regulation game by 12 1/2, if not for JR Smith's dumbass play, it would not have gone to overtime.
Only an extremely biased "person" would say that Love was not a factor in covering the spread.

Love was terrible AGAIN tonight. Not sure they beat Boston unless he gets the concussion. 1-8 from 3(that’s all he’s good for)and 21 points on 20 shots isn’t very impressive. I agree with MD that they better with him on the bench. Can’t D, hardly gets any offensive rebounds, and his shot so inconsistent. Easily on of the most overrated players in the league.

He still has to play big minutes. Flaws and all.

They just don't have anyone else who can consistently score. LeBron went for 50, rest of team was 3/17 on catch and shoot, 7/30 from 3 on mostly good looks.

Sure if Jeff Green could play like he did in gm 6-7 vs C's then you can limit Love's minutes more but it's just not likely to happen. Green was the Magic 8th man and had to sign with the Cavs for the veterans minimum for a reason.

I missed this post. I wouldn't say his shot is inconsistent. But his shit was off last night for sure. He's a better shooter at home. But to say he was the reason they covered is hilarious when he didn't do much at all in the 2h.

The key thing is curry/Durant going 8 possesions in a row at him. Luckily for Love and the Cavs they missed some shots. But they started to abuse him with the game on the line. Currys crossover step back 3 to go up 6. Durrant had a blow by. Curry had an And 1. If you think they are done doing this you are looking at it the wrong way. This is way more of a factor to the outcome of the series than who gets some meaningless rebounds.
