Big game Thurs night!...currently Louisville -14

Can Houston keep up? Louisville should score 45+ but can Houston score 31+?

Any insight is appreciated.

Was so excited for this game and planned to go see it.... not anymore :(

That being said... this is UH championship game, playing a possible playoff team, so I would not surprise if they get up for this game and that Defense can slow Louisville down. The same D that shut down OU in 2H.

I'm all over Houston in this game and will also play them on the ML as well. Houston is #9 in Total Defense, and #3 in Rushing defense, and this is in a conference where there are some very good offenses. They are by far equipped to handle the L'Ville QB because they have fast athletes in their front 7. I'm looking forward to see Mr Oliver meet Mr Jackson. They've got a ton of athletes. With the 2 losses already and no chance of making a big time bowl, this game IS the Houston season and I think they've been gearing up for a big performance at home. I don't think Jackson can pass the ball well enough to beat them.

Agree completely. I'll be backing UH in this one and playing a couple bucks on the ML as well. Statistically this is the best defense Ville has faced this year. #9 is total defense, #3 in rush defense, #20 in 3rd down Efficiency defense which means they get teams off the field. Teams are only successful 33% of the time on 3rd down.

I just don't like Louisville. They have a tendency to let inferior opponents hang around and then they put up garbage points in the 4th quarter to make themselves look better in the polls. They will be beaten at least one more time this year. I haven't had a chance to look at this particular game but my play would be UH or nothing.

Preseason (read somewhere) had UH -2.5 .... 17 points swing because of records and loss of interest and focus. IMO, its the main reason for UH losses after rumor of Herman leaving.

If they can get back playing football, they can win SU.

Coogs get their ass handed to them unfortunately.

Best response to this original post. Houston better buy some damn good insurance because one hell of a tidal wave is coming their way. This game gets out of hand by the end of the first half. That win over the Sooners is the ONLY thing keeping their lines stupid. It all changes this week. GL

Thats the talk in Houston right now. AS you noted, when UH got off to the hot start, then the rumors began to swirl about HC Herman taking the LSU or Texas jobs. Then LSU fires Miles and he rumors heated up. UT got off to a 2-4 start, rumors heated up and the team lost focus having to field those questions. I think they are feeling a bit disrespected being a 2 TD dog right now.....

Some of Petrino's comments about going into full on "gas mode" would have me worried about taking Houston tonight. That and Ward Jr's health are a concern. L'ville gets their chance to impress the committee in the ESPN spotlight and Lamar Jackson can show off to the Heisman voters as well.

For Christ's sake WinOne, Houston has played the 66th toughest schedule so far. Phuck, my Dores are at 44. Sooners at no. 13 and Louisville one step down at 14th. So yeah, their D nos should be better than OU and Louisville, although they're 9th and Louisville is 6th. Louisville in the five spot needs to dust Houston tonight to have a chance so I can see an ass-whippin coming. GL

As a UH alum, I don't like our chances of keeping this within the number. As stated above, before the rumors started swirling this team was playing well. Then Navy......

Let's not forget the lack of depth and injuries that have mounted for the Coogs this season. For a short period Ed Oliver was the only man on the D Line.

Thanks T. That was some good shit you whipped up and sent last time. I was just sent a smoked turkey by a client and it's sitting here in my office calling for me. You get the new traeger?

Injuries to Ward concern me as well and they have no depth at QB as Postma is out for season. And they've been trying to protect Ward with their playcalling. And I heard Bobby P talking about running up the score for style points, but I just have a hunch, kinda why it's called gambling. I've also thought about the Vegas putting out a number to get the public to bite. Looks like from a money perspective it's 52% on UH, 48% on Ville. Just have to ask yourself is Ville up for UH or are they perhaps looking ahead to UK. Houston beat them LY as a 13 point dog @Ville. Also, Jackson played QB in that game and they held him to 12 carries for 16 yards. Now I realize he was a freshman making his first start, but I don't think they'll be awestruck by L'Ville coming into tonights game. As I said, it's a hunch that I'm taking the points and gonna play ML.

GL to all you gents

Funny thing about this is UH is not ranked with 2 loses despite their win over Oklahoma. If I'm 'Ville, I'd be pissed off about that as that would help them by beating a ranked UH team. No way you can tell me that a healthy Houston on a neutral field wouldn't be atleast a 3-7 point favorite over everyone ranked 20-25.
