TOUGH week this week!

jags and jets are solid choices as is arizona

HOWEVER

as far as san francisco (who plays AZ) they are coming off a HUGE win last week against tampa and have the rams on deck next week - and after how the last game ended - i can see a major league look ahead here. i want NO PART of asking SF to win here. AZ off a bye - and you never know.

NYJ is a solid choice for as much crap as mcnabb has been getting - it's gotta fire him up and get him going. philly is at atlanta next week so no chance for a lok ahead here and it would be nice to get NYJ out of the way before pennington comes back.

Jags are also a solid choice. they are coming off a BYE - but unlike AZ - they play a better opponent in Tenn. what really pushes me to Tenn here is that the titans have BYE next week. this means they don't have to worry about "looking ahead" to next week - for "next week" they will be sitting at home watching 14 games on tv - not playing in any.

looking back over the NFL sked - teams .500 or better (at the time of their BYE) playing on the road the week before their bye at 5-0 SU. tennessee fits this category.

i will warn you this game might get very dicey and i doubt the titans will kill the jags here - but tennessee CAN'T let this game slip away if they have any thoughts of winning the division because a loss here and they have TWO divisional losses - and if that happens - they are dead meat to win the division for indy is not gonna lose another divisional game (after they lose @ tenn later on). will also add the titans are 15-3 ATS after 3+ overs in a row. i know this isn't asking who will cover ATS - but if tenn does cover ATS they will win the game - and this trend hits over 80% of the time - so....

the pick here - Jags

good analysis winky...at first glance the spot looks good for the jags but i trully believe this is another one of those "get the job done" type games for tennassee. They are at least a touchdown better than the jags in this one. The jags have faced indy, miami, and buffalo in games that would be classified as let down spots, and failed to cover. Titans are a more formidable opponent than all three. I like Ten here...

You could save the Jags for a game like the Colts and use the Cowboys or Cardinals now. Personally I would go for the Cowboys here and save the Jags and Cardinals.

winky, Just got the e-mail from the guy running the pool He said about 35 left. I have a feeling that everyone and his brother will be on new orleans this week. I still have a bye week left, but can nrw orleans really win at tampa bay? Well let me know your thoughts. THANKS TK

i was going to lean to NO, too. but i do sense everyone will be on NO - and therefore, maybe another team would be good to take.

in my suicide pool in week 1 about 1/2 the pool took miami. 'nuff said.

with that in mind - maybe it is best to take someone else - JUST IN CASE!

if you take another team, solid options include:

Pitt (@ Seattle) - seat 4-0 @ home while pitt 1-2 on the road. however seat doesn't exactly kill anyone this season - so this could be dicey althout seat will not lose this game.

GB (@ Minny) - we know favrenugen sucks in domes - and minny off a loss will be more focused here - and a win just about wraps up the division. but there is a better week to take GB (11/16 @ tampa) so GB is not thaaaaaaaaaaaat great of a pick.

as of now - Pittsburgh would be my pick but let me speak to a few people and see what they say. hopefully others will chime in with their $.02

the one thing i would do now (if you haven't already) is map out the rest of the season and see all of the teams you would consider eachw eek. this will help out for in some weeks there might only be one solid choice - and you will need to save that team for that week "just in case" and it will help you in other weeks.

for the record - the next few weeks AFTER this one look manageable.

winky, For some reason i just don't feel good about this week. I am thinking about using my bye. I sure would like to save it for the end. But like you said there seems to be better picks ahead. Take pittsburgh or not Convince me THANKS

agree - the BYE this week wouldn't be the worst thing you could do - although now that garcia is OUT - the rams look like a solid play to win the game - meaning the 49ers without garcia could be a pick. the only thing i would be scared about is even though the rams won last week on grass - normally they SUCK not playing on the fake stuff.

i do think New Orleans will lose this week to TB. the question you have to ask yourself is do you want to take NO - knowing a lot of other people will, too - meaning if NO wins - that will take out a large part of who is left - and leave you looking pretty - if you don't play NO this week.

as for pitt - tough to talk you into it. i do think they will lose - but look at seattle's recent games against teams worse than the steelers. they have been nail biters (see - bears in a game that was tied with under 60 seconds left to play). the steelers are a mess now - but with seattle not blowing out anyone - tough to really place any confidence in them at all.

he was supposed to send an e-maiil , now that there are only 35 left, but he never did. I went with green bay. Just a hunch on my part. My son is still alive as well and he picked Atlanta. Let's hope it works out. Looking forward to hearing from you next week Thanks
