I'll get you rooms at the Silverton right outside of town. Let me know!

I love the Rio for some reason and they always had great comps ( disclaimer, have not been to LV in 6 years)

Gold Coast. Just up the street from Caeser's and a shuttle that takes you to the strip. Clean rooms at a reasonable rate, and a decent buffet.

For me its always Venetian/Palazzo. I'll be there next week friday. IMO they have the nicest & biggest rooms on the strip. I believe you can book for about $250/night and as long as you're a decent bettor I'm sure your room will be comped the next time you return. I believe I'm rated as a $75/hand player and they take care of me pretty good there.

Pretty cool place...stayed there 2 or 3 years ago.

Have they upgraded their race/sports book?

The Silverton has a differnt location for their Sportsbook but it's still pretty pathetic. It's a Leroys as I recall. I love the Bass Pro Shop place that is part of the same building. They have a few nice video poker machines, a great steak house, awesome Mexican Restuarant, but you need a vehicle to get to the strip Casinos.

Am I the only one that doesnt mind staying at harrahs, flamingo, even Imperial Palace for the right price just to be on the strip and in the middle of everything for a low low price? Screw the higher cost places- I spend max of 6 hrs every 24 in my room. If it has a bed, a shower, and a sink, I'm good.

Granted, I also travel to Vegas for conferences quite a bit and get to stay at Ceasers, Bellagio, Paris, etc for free those times. So I've at least experienced them all. But if its on my own dime- cheap and on the strip works for me. Save that money for the tables.

That's exactly why I recommend Bill's Gambling Hall which is a Harrahs property and It's a lot nicer place to stay and even better location than the 3 Harrahs properties you mentioned. I prefer smaller and cozy with a nice room never more than 2 or 3 minutes from the Casino action. If you haven't stayed there, you should give it a try.

If you really want a good laugh Bills has karaoke week nights and it is country western for the most part.

The funny part is these people get up there sing there country western crap and look like they shop at the salvation army.

:toast::103631605:lolBIG: Yes I've heard it and they actually think they sound just like Garth Brooks etc. The Imperial Palace also had it when We were there for the Bash about 3 or 4 years ago.

do yourself a favor and do NOT stay at circus circus, excalibur or one of those hotels. the point of going to vegas is to do it big and in style. at least for me. at least stay at the mgm mandalay bay etc. just not circus circus or excalibur. trust me.

More than one source reports Tiger Woods likes MGM a lot -- for rooms and gambling, not just the cocktail waitresses

Most of the big places on the strip, including the ones you list as second tier, can give you a great place to stay if you're willing to spend the money. You can do well at Caesars if that's what you've set your mind on

Actually my wife works in reservations for Circus, Circus. They have a number of levels of rooms starting at the lowest which is the Manor which are a total joke. However they also have the newly remodeled tower rooms that are actually very nice and are far nicer than a lot of the rooms at some of the cheaper Harrahs hotels like Imperial Palace. I think the biggest drawback with Circus, Circus is the location and the type of people that stay there. They are either there with their kids or quite a bit older crowd. Like I said ... if you know which tower to ask for, the rooms are almost like new !
However if you have the $$ to throw around $ 250 to $ 400 a night for your 5 hours of sleep... go ahead and stay at the Venetian or Wynn.... to each his own !

Yes I agree. With Circus's friends and family plan, my wife can get a room in their newly remodeled North Tower for $ 29.95 a night Sunday through Thursday and $ 59.95 Friday and Saturday. That price was during March madness when rooms were costing a fortune. If you have a vehicle, it is a short 3 minutes drive on Industrial and you are at the Mirage. That's what Redeye and I did during March madness ! Who spends all that much time in their rooms anyway when you're in Las Vegas...right !
