I run on one at the gym but I'm also going to buy myself one for Christmas and put it in my "sweat room" and mount a TV as well. I hate competing for a treadmill at the gym.

Well if you are use to high quality gym treadmills dont make the same mistake I first made.
I use to go to the gym everyday then made the choice to build my own gym in my house.
The gym I was a member of is voted the #1 gym in the southern USA.
So all the equipment was top notch.

I took for granted the difference in a high quality treadmill and the cheap $700 shit you get at Walmart.
It makes a huge difference.

I first bought one of the cheep treadmills and I hated it and noticed I started finding excuses not to run everyday.

I also did not have a nice TV to watch like I did at the gym.

I broke down and invested in a high quality commercial treadmill of the same quality as the one at the gym and wall mounted a nice tv at perfect eye level.

Also padded the floor in the workout room and bought good lifting equipment.

You have to make what you are doing fun.
If you dont you will never follow through.

eat 4 meals a day - smaller portions. don't wait until you're so hungry that you have to eat, and don't eat until you're full. eat until you're not hungry. there's a key difference. it's important to eat breakfast so you don't overeat and have a gigantic lunch. portion control is also a great way to avoid the "itis" or food coma. quick snack before you commute home (4pm is like the best snack time). workout before dinner is best imo. if you workout after dinner, it'll be late at night and you will have trouble falling asleep and it will ruin your sleep schedule.

pre-workout shakes usually have b vitamins or extended release caffeine to help you get going.
post-workout shakes are good for quicker recovery and obviously building mass. if you use either of these, drink a lot of water.

always mix up your workouts. do cardio and do lifting (light or heavy, whatever works. light/high reps, heavy/lower reps). don't worry about gaining weight because you're lifting. trust me, both will help you lose weight overall.

You make a good point Chop. I've been running on treadmills for about 18 years now all at the gym so I'm kind of used to quality.

I'm going to break down and spend a bit of money on a quality one with a warranty. I find the treadmill fun so that's never an issue.

I don't agree with this one. I believe you should eat at least 6 small meals a day.

depends on the what your day job is
i only say 4 because it's reasonable and flexible
6 may not be for everyone

I would counter that if you're serious about changing your life, it doesn't matter what your job is. You must be disciplined and prepare your meals.

I love treadmills when im doing something while running on it, and the treadmill is of high quality.
If you have been running at upper tier gym's chances are you have only been exposed to high quality treadmills.

Dont make the mistake of thinking you can buy a Walmart special and get the same experience.

Its night and day.

A good treadmill like the kind you are use to starts at $4500 but its worth it.

If you are going to do the juicing thing you also need a good blender.
Vitamix is awesome.

Its all about comfort.
You have to remove as many excuses as possible to make it all work.

Nothing worse then juicing with shit blender.

What I really would like is to get some basic exercises that I can do without buying gym equipment or joining a gym. I already have the stereo to jam the tunes to keep me going, I want to know what I should start with, how many and how long. I know this won't go away overnight, it didn't get that way overnight either. So I must put in the time and effort, this I am ready to do and appreciate some guidance. As I said there are more like me out there, heck Dave007 already came forth.

Thanks guys.

im proud that you're starting now. you caught yourself early. when you're 250-300 the battle is sooooo much harder.

cardio - take a stopwatch. walk/run/jog anywhere away from your house for 20 min. now go home lol. ideally you also try to get home faster than you did leaving to push yourself a little.

pushups and situps all can be done at home. pullups are if you live near a playground or install a bar in your home. i think a kettlebell can be used for various exercises if you want to minimize buying equipment.

your exercises kind of have to be fun though, as pointed out earlier. a friend of mine just bought a stationary bike and rode it while he played through his long list of rpgs on his playstation. at 50 hours per game, he lost weight pretty fast lol.

So true about eating until you're not hungry anymore instead of eating until you're full. Eating less for lunch + a late afternoon snack totally works

Great stuff guys. I appreciate it. The highest weight I have been is 211. I started freaking out and cut back on the junk. I have been fluctuating from 202-206 for a while now but I know I need to get to about 170-175 or so. I think that will be the ideal weight. I know I can likely lose some weight quick but will gain weight back due to building muscle in the legs, calves etc but I'd rather have that weight than a kangaroo pouch.

The exercise bike and walking won't be a big deal, I'll jam tunes from my IPOD and will become oblivious to what I am doing. The Red will come in handy, I have found a lot of good videos on You Tube to maximize time and effort.

The other video will come in handy as well because it is a play list and they are all exercising videos and it helps they are good looking woman on the beach in the gym etc to watch and do what they are doing.

The Gym isn't for me, I tried it before and it just wasn't my thing.

Thanks again. :)

Thought this would have been said, but since it wasn't... this is what worked for me in the past.

Stay away from Anything WHITE. = white processed flour

I know it's everything we Love... but if you want to Drop the weight off, and more so with the Bloat... get rid of the White in your Diet.

Yeah I know... it's all the Best stuff you Love... Pasta, Pizza, Bread... But Whole Wheat Pasta isn't that bad... same with the Whole Wheat Pizza with Low Fat Cheese. Whole wheat Bread or 7 Grain Bread with your sandwich...

a little Trick I use when eating a Salad.... Most like the Crunch of croutons in a Salad... Toast up 1 slice of Whole Wheat or 7 Grain, Cut in small squares, and use as croutons.

Drink Milk ?? or use it in your Coffee ?? 1% Milk ... or you like Half & Half ? Fat Free Half & Half is fine.

You like those Tyson Chicken Strips ?? Buy some skinless Boneless chicken, get a Grater... Take your Whole Wheat Bread and Bread them. Buy PAM to to coat the Baking Pan, Bake the Chicken ! Don't Fry !

Honey Mustard Dipping sauce ? Mustard is LOW in Cals.... Just add a very small amount of Honey in a small Bowl of Mustard...
BBQ sauce... some not as bad as Others... I use Sweet Baby Rays, will use that for dipping as well.

Like Pork Chops ?? Buy WITHOUT the Bone... Center Cut ! No Bone... a lot less Fat.. Grill and use the Baby Rays ( NO DUCK Sauce )
Bake Beans ??? I know you said No Veggies... But it has Fiber.. Small amount, like 1/2 cup
Eat Rice ?? Brown Rice !

Want a Treat ?? Have a Hamburger from Home. Grill it, and use 2 slices of Whole wheat bread.

Eat Turkey Burgers... and use large pieces of iceberg lettuce as the Bread. Meaning Cut an End, break it up and use it as the Hamburger Roll. Yeah, sound like no way it would be Good... But it is.

Use the Sweet Baby rays on the Turkey Burger... it will taste like a Regular Hamburger.

Just a couple of Tips that I have used in the past, and it works
