I know this may be a little early to ask but ever since i heard the giants were going to start manning first year i have been salivating at the thought of betting the season wins under. Given the premise that they dont make any major moves, what do you guys think the over/under number will be?

You know it is too early. So many variables before camp starts. I cannot see the Giants starting him behind their current line. Collins got less than ideal protection and his numbers nosedived. Collins has one year, unless they trade him? Or waive him. Not sure of interest level there. But that is when the numbers get posted. When rosters are getting set. But, for fun, I will dump an O/U season total Giants. 6 un20. Keep Collins, pushup juice to ov-.50, lose him, un-.75 or drop number to 5 1/2. Guess we will see. Best wishes...OF

5 1/2, they are tossing this season, rebuilding. Manning may get his shot this season, but have to see who they bring in now. I thought Chargers would wreck this kid, Giants could destroy his career and set their franchise back 2-3 years. Welcome to the NFL Eli. Watch some of daddy's films running in the backfield of the Saints. Like father like son. 2 or 3 year project with kid anyway. He is no Marino. Who in the Giants organization thinks this Eli is the savior? Economics got proven QB kicked out. Now they will get a backup to start. I see some pretty PO's NYG fans for the next 3 seasons. Good Luck, OF

Don't underestimate new Giants head coach Tom Coughlin. A disciplinarian on the field, Coughlin likes smash mouth football. While no playoffs this year, the Giants will compete, 6 wins are not out of the question by any means.

Sorry Wil, not a bit tough Tom fan. Rarely do today's pampered athletes buy into tough Tom's either. How much better are Jags, with young player's coach Del Rio. Panthers, Bengals? At least Tuna and Gibbs had some success. Lot of vets gonna grumble. He got the job because of how he patiently built up Jags, with pretty quick results, through the draft and young players. The Giants are not an expension team, were a playoff, super bowl team. That sadly quit on Fassel last year. This requires an overall, not a band aid. 5 1/2 may be too high. Philly, Dallas improved, Gibbs will help Snyder. Outside the division they are in trouble. A bit early but I think the Giants will dismantle this squad and start from scratch for savior Eli. Build the O around him for sure. Quite the gamble. I thought Fassel did great job for what he was given. Had a good run on top, just 1 win short of the big prize. Bet you tough Tom never gets there. Best wishes...OF

Obviously time will tell. With a home schedule including Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and Pittsburg, as well as road games at Arizona, and Cinncinati the 5.5 total is reachable.

The Giants problem last year was not lack of talent. Fassel was a friggin moron and cost them 2 games (DAL and PHI) , Barber fumbled all over the place and Collins was disgracefully bad. Manning has the weapons to throw to , They may sacrifice early games but they will definitely win more than 5.5 games unless this is Mannings face all year

True they did lose games they should not have. I honestly believe when they lost that game to 49er, that meltdown game, the wheels started to wobble. I can't join the dogpile on the exiting coach as how bad of a moron was he leading them to the playoffs, or the super bowl? I thought they were not so talented, did not pursue any quality free agents. I judge the overall Fassel years successful. Couple vets on the team feel the same way. Enter the unknown. Is it still the Mara and G. Young show?, As far as never had the handle to lose Barber, is this something new? Very rare to see a team pack it in like the Giants did last season. Good year or two before right people are in place, and people have Tom's system down. Reminds me of Jimmy's first year with Dallas and Aikman. They won 1 game? And Aikman just got killed in back of that line. I feel Eli is not all the savior, bet the franchise QB they are betting on. Just my opinion....OF

Considering they have a rookie qb, a horrible line, and will be 0-6 in the division, they will have to go 6-4 out in the remaining games. Probably smarter to go against them early and take them late in the season.

Wil, the Giants I saw playing out the string last season could not beat the Lions at home. And it is hard to cap a schd, a season in advance, as who is this years Carolina. And who wanted the Super Bowl teams on their schd, Raiders and Bucs. I like Detroit, Zona at home, Atlanta with Vick. It is too early to see how far the cuts go, but if they go for a quickie rebuild, 3 to 4 wins is in the cards. Other teams around them are getting better now. Not building for the future. I will move my line up to 6 un-60 for you Wil. Or would you rather have the 5 1/2? Good thread...OF

OF save your lines thanks. My point is that with Tom Caughlin at the helm this team will compete in every game. Its easy to say they can't win a division game as Fair Warning did, but the fact remains that they still have to play them on the field. Look for Niel O'Donnell to sign on as temporary vet QB.

Coughlin is a foul mouth punk with no imagination and most players dislike him. He and Manning are a combination for multiple losing seasons.

My point is they will be at a competitive disadvantage, no matter how hard they try, even if they buy into Tom's methods. When team on top fall, they fall hard. Have they stopped falling yet? Niel would be killed behind that line. Better get someoone with mobility and similar to Eli, so transition would be smooth. Who was that on Caro, Rodney Peete? Someone like that. All they can afford, without addressing other urgent needs. Eli being #1 traded for pick is going to demand huge money, draft picks squandered are not going to fill any holes either. They play crappy, and lose the draft pick. Are we talking about the same team here? Come on Wil, your losing me here bud. Best wishes...OF

I will say it for the third, and last time, like he has done everywhere he has been, Tom Caughlin will win with the Giants. Do I expect playoffs this year, no, do I expect them to win 6 games - sure. Anything is possible in the NFL these days (Panthers for example).

I respect your opinion. Can Tom get a 50% improvement off of last year's 4 win team, which may or may not have bottomed out, which may buy into Tom's system, which may have a savior in Eli, which may rebuild team with 3 less draft picks including probably a good #1 in 05. For a team that is rarely active in the free agent market, I think they will be lucky to win 4 again. Are they your favorite team or something? Sorry if they are. Not trying to break your balls or anything. Best Wsihes...OF

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Giants o/u is 7 under-60/over +30 <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Need 8 on-field victories to win this prop if you go over, to many - even imho. (laying 60 cents going under is not good for me).
