Disagree 100%. I had USC, Texas, and LSU all at about the same preseason ranking that year. No one in the nation could stop Texas' offense that year. Their offensive line would dominate everyone. That was a 50/50 game and I was happy to cash Texas ML and the over.

Bozo the Carroll had 6 weeks to prepare for a running QB and it was as if his D didn't know who VY was. And the "greatest player ever" was on the sidelines for 4th and 1.

They got lucky, anyone who isn't biased could admit to that. Hell even a lot of Longhorn fans claimed as much. USC plays their C game & still had those guys down double digits late in the game.

The bad calls by the refs did them in as well as a depleted defense. I also partly blame PC for not having Bush in there on 4th & 1. They make that & the game is over.

USC blew the Title last year, they had no business losing that game, even though they were clearly the best two teams in the country..then again Notre Dame and Fresno shouldn't have blown to USC either..

USC couldn't hang on to a 2 TD lead with the ball and only four minutes left in the game..burn clock and move chains..finesse D..weak!

And because of it, Mr Febuary finally got a deserved hall pass for all his 1 Loss seasons by Austinites..and has another loaded #1 class coming again..

And because of the" el foldo", USC despite clearly being the best program in the country the last 5 years, now must upset The Ohio State from winning it's 2nd BCS Crown of the new millennium, which would move the Buckeyes to the lead in terms of Millennial Hardware..because as of now it stands one each for Okla, Miami, OSU, LSU, USC, Texas..despite what the propaganda machines/media sell it as..

Come hell or high water though, USC will be the preaeason #1 next Fall..

Cant see Ohio State trading scores with Trojans. Bucks got a small taste of a competent passing team and didnt respond well. I can see T smith making a couple of plays with his legs, but can also see him thorwing couple ints.

Boomer Esiason likes to figure out which of the 4 units is best on the field on his radio show. Well I think the best units in this game. I would say it goes 1. Trojan Defense 2. Trojan Offense 3. Buck Defense 4. Buck Offense.

True Rail, this USC Defense has more physicality and uses it's speed to better degrees than have past Trojan Ds.

OSU and USC have the best Offensive Lines in the country, and this goes without notice to most people, but is a large reason for both having the success they do..Smith and Booty are allowed time to work.

LSU's Jamarcus Russell would have both OSU and USC unbeaten and never challenged to date, if allowed to work behind those two Offensive Lines and/or throwing to those WRs. Even though he has three excellent WRs to work with, his OL isn't in their league, and why LSU isn't in the BCS Title Game.

P.S. I like Boomer's angle to capping, I use the same amongst others.
