Stick to your guns, Rio. The Mets ARE surging. 9 wins out of last 14, including 4 out of the last 5 on the ROAD vs. these starters - Johnson, Webb, Oswalt, Pettitte, and Clemens! That's pretty impressive for a team that finally abandoned the "buy an aging superstar" strategy that failed them so miserably the last 3 years. The team is only 3 1/2 behind last years World Series Champs and AHEAD of the 11 time division Champ Braves with a line-up featuring "household names" such as Eric Valent, Danny Garcia, Jason Phillips, Ty Wigginton, and Joe McEwing. When you also consider the Mets have played virtually the entire season without 2 of their best hitters (Jose Reyes and Cliff Floyd), I think Met fans can be pretty pleased with the way things are going.
