Shrink could be in trouble again by predicting that the Los Angeles Lakers will easily capture the NBA title.

Find out why Wild Bill thinks this is the case by going to the Rx home page at www.therx.com

Thanks Bill and Charlie.

While most want to assume the western conferance will decide the NBA champion, I am in hope that the Pacers make it and with their talent they will not be a pushover. I am in hopes that LA makes the finals along with Indiana so that we can get a little payback.

You have the defensive player of the year
You have a team with the best record in the NBA
You have one of the top players in the NBA
You have maybe the best coach in the NBA
You have one of the all time clutch shooters in the NBA
You have a team with homecourt advantage throughout
You have the deepest bench in the NBA
You have Larry Bird in the picture
You have the making of a champion

it doesn't happen evry often - but this time shrink is 100% right!

they are playing the rest of the playoffs only because the league - and abc - require it - because there is ZERO DOUBT the 2003-04 champs will be the same team that has won 3 of the last 4 titles - and would be going for a "5-peat" if robert horry's 3-pointer in G5 of last year's WC semis stays in after going down about 50% of the way.

The Lakers should and will win the Title.

They can always have TWO top 5 PLAYERS in the NBA on the floor at the same time.

They just beat the "best" team in the league with a great def guard who Kobe managed to score 26.4 points a game against.

Lakers will win their 4th title in 5 yrs.

This is really a silly argument. We should be discussing whether the Lakers chances are better than the current offered odds yes -145/no +131). That is debatable. Saying that they have a 100% chance to win is not debatable. It's just wrong. Maybe I'm crazy but I think the "prediction" was satire as an experienced bettor like Shrink would know better.

All due respect, General...
but....

Who cares about... with Pacers

Lakers have Kobe and Shaq
Pacers are soft
Pacers compiled that "best record" against "sorry east"
Fact is the home court is all that will cause this series to go any longer than 5 games.

DENNY "The Shrink" CRANE is right. Lakers win the championship!

Pacers did quite well against the west also and if they can win 1 game against LA, then I would say odds are that they can win 2 or even 4.

Obviously, we got a series with Miami and hopefully New Jersey or Detroit 1st.

Not saying they did not play pretty well against the west...

I am saying that if the entire schedule would have been a western conference schedule...

The Pacers damn sure would not have the best record in the NBA!

Hope you win General!

Just voicing my opinion. Don't forget Mr Stern's office will have its say as well.

Maybe he will be happy to get the Lakers into the finals and then the underdog Pacers to win. Would make a nice story.

Hope you win a bunch!

i have only used this word one other time - when i said dante stallworth would get picked higher than ashlie lelie in the nfl draft - and he was.

the lakers are a LOCK to win the nba title this season!

if they play the timberpuppies in the WC finals - they will shred them - maybe even sweeping them. if they play the queens - i can see it going 5 games.

in the finals against the WNBA winner: if it is indy, the sries goes 5. lakers split (at worst) in indy - then do what no other nba team has ever done - sweep the middle 3 at home. if it is anyone else - and the lakers have HCA, lakers easily win 2 at home, then win at least 1 in the wnba winners home court, meaning lakers would win it in 6 - or less. my guess is 5 - at most.

as far as this "love" for indy - just keep this in mind. the east was awful this season - no argument. the pacers won a lot of games against teams that suck! put the pacers in the west - and they not only DON'T finish with the #1 overall record - they don't even win 50 games. the pacers - AT BEST - would have been the #5 seed in the west, behind (in no particular order): minny, sac, lakers, spurs.

put any of the west's 4 best teams in the WNBA and they win at lest 60 - and get the #1 seed in that pathetic league.

lakers/spurs was for the NBA title. lakers won it - and by getting about 1 week's rest before their next series (meaning a tired kobe, shaq and the rest of the team have many days to rest - and when kobe and shaq are rested - look out league) they will make mincemeat out of the minny/sac winner.

winky, you're comparing a draft to a sporting event? Yeah, I thought it was a lock that Lebron would be taken #1. Gee, what a great call.

If you really believe that is is a 100% lock, then why don't you put your entire bankroll on LA -145 to win the series? (or maybe you have?) That gives you an almost 70% gain in just over a month. Or do you plan on increasing your roll 70% in the next month on other wagers?

People who say it's a 100% lock don't really believe it because if they did they would truly bet every last penny on it. If I was assured of geting back 1.70 in a month for every 1.00 I put in today I would put every last penny possible in it. How many investments guarantee a 70% return in 30 days?

Shrink, then let me ask you directly....are you putting your entire bankroll on it? If not, why not?...do you really think you're going to return better than 70% on that money in the next 30 days or so?

Unlike your statement that the Lakers are 100% guaranteed to win, that is a very wise standard. I would have assumed that the reason for such bet sizing is because there are no sure things i.e. it is impossible to say what will happen ith 100% certainty (and if ever an event existed, you would not find a ML offered). But Shrink, are you conceding that it is not 100% sure that the Lakers will win? Why would you limit yourself to 2-3% if it there was ZERO risk of losing. Because then it's not really a bet, it's more like a secured loan (really, really secured) with a really high rate of interest.
