My predictions for the top 3 teams from each power conference:

Big 12-
1) BAYLOR- yeah I think they win the big 12, with a halfway decent defense and a potent offense.
2) TCU- their offense is unstoppable but defensively they are awful and it will be pattersons big test of his coaching career
3) Texas- yeah it's bold but Charlie strong is a defensive juggernaut and will bring Texas back to its power

Big 10-
1) Ohio state- they're that good, no need to elaborate.
2) Michigan state- they will have the best chance at beating Ohio state and just may do it.
3)Wisconsin- outstanding defense and a potent running attack.

ACC-
1) Georgia tech- they're talented and dangerous, triple option teams are always tough
2)Florida state- only because Clemson will choke
3) Clemson- they just never can get it done

SEC-
1) Alabama- this could go either way, but I like Saban and his new offense with that supreme defense
2. Auburn- new qb but more experience.
3) Tennessee- they're in the east and they can make some serious noise

pac 12-
1) Oregon- everyone expects Oregon to take a step back, but I don't. Vernon Adams or lockie, this team has more offensive depth than any other team before them. If their defense can stand the test the road to the pac 12 title will continue to go thru Eugene. They've won 11 games for 5 straight seasonsfor a reason, don't expect them to slow down this year.
2) USC - this team is loaded but they have sarkisian as a head coach who has made a career of losing key games.
3) Arizona- the rich rod show is great offensively but won't have the defense to stay with all the offense in the pac 12. They'll hang around but I look for USC to take the south and oregonto win the north

looking forwrdto a great season. Good luck and Godspeed to everyone

I can see everything you said happening except Texas finishing at #3. Strong is a bad HC in big games. Texas goes to Notre Dame, TCU, and Baylor. Three sure losses there. They also have OU in Dallas. Don't forget Oklahoma State, a real sleeper in the Big 12. If Texas finishes third in the Big 12, then the Big 12 is in real trouble.

Not a chance in hell Georgia Tech wins the ACC. Great season last year but means nothing for 2015. Too many skill players missing especially at running back and wide receiver. Tech won't sneak up on anyone this season.

Arizona State has as good of chance of winning the Pac as anyone else. Love UCLA's talent and I never count out Stanford because the Cards play defense.

Tennessee and Arkansas are getting all kinds of fan love....neither will challenge for the SEC this season...maybe 2016.

Mr. A, I apologize for sounding like a smartass and putting your post down. Didn't mean to come across that way.

Glad to have you Bud and your opinion is just as valid as mine or anyone else here.

I don't think Georgia Tech will be a leading player in the ACC this year but could have expressed it differently. Sorry Bud!

Haha it's ok man, you're not offending me at all. The beauty of this country and forum is that we are all allowed an opinion and allowed to defend it. I personally like Georgia tech and Justin Thomas is quite overlooked. They are a tough offense to prepare for and if they play solid defense they could easily win the acc, Clemson is the nations most overrated team every season and Florida state is now looking for a new qb.... As for the big 12, all Texas needs is a qb who can distribute the football and they can shut teams down... The reason they lost games last year was simply due to offensive inefficiency which lead to their defense spending insane amounts of time on the field.... If they can get a reliable qb, not even good, just reliable they will win 9+ games and shock most everyone who's a college football fan. Charlie has a knack for finding top notch talent and work horses where no one else looks. Giving him the state of Texas rather than Kentucky is a supreme advantage, time will show that.

the pac 12 may be the best conference in football this season from top to bottom...the south is very good with USC, UCLA, zona and zona state... Any of those teams could win it in all honesty. Stanford plays defense and that wins games, but they are a joke at their skill positions and their offensive line will have holes to fill. They had Oregon figured out for a while but I think helfrich has their number now( at least I hope so). Defensively Oregon has matched stanfords physicality which is the best way to beat them. Other than that Oregon trounces them in terms of athletes and playmakers. Stanford will always scare me but in all honesty the team I always worry about is cal..... They are sneaky good in that north division and Goff has had time to develop in that offense. It's going to to be a great year for the pac 12.... Maybe the sec is still better but it's hard for me to see it this season
