I'd def go for 2

You basically have a choice...

Would you rather you go for 2 or NE go for 2 if they score?

If I were Seattle I'd rather put that in the hands of the offense the way they've played tonight.

No.
The extra point is basically 100%.

Going for 2 reduced your odds to 50%.

If you kick the one you go up 8.

Now you give the pats a 50% chance to tie instead of the now 99% chance.

There is absolutely no kind of numbers to support going for 2 when you are up 7.

NONE 0 nada.

No matter what kind of numbers you crunch you will never find anything that will tell you that's smart .

Not in any situation ever

It depends what you think your odds are.

I'm sure the math that Carroll did is that both offenses are more likely than not to convert the 2. So if both are more likely than not, let's be the one that does it.

Someone is going for 2 in this equation, why would Seattle want it to be NE over them?

You can go up 2 possessions whereas if they get it they can only tie you at best as well.

Well based on the fact that they 4 Plays to get 0 yards the odds are pretty good they took an unneeded risk.

Damn I can't believe Blount could not get me that 4th TD.

BB probably gonna be pissed at him now And bench him the rest of the season

That's obviously meaningless and you know it. Stuff happens.

Seattle was moving the ball all night on the ground and in the air. I'd definitely want the ball in Wilson's hands to clinch the game rather than Brady's to tie it if I'm Sea.

I liked the call to go for 2 & a shot at all but putting the game away. Seattle had already experienced a failed extra point
earlier in the game.

I thought BB should have gone for 2 after the TD with the Pats up 1. If successful it would have given them a 3 point lead.

I like: going for 2 up 7 to put the game away.

I dont like: Going for 2 when its the first score of the game.

I thought it was the right call. If they make it the game is over. If not they're up 7. NE still has to score a td and likely doest go for 2 in that situation.

That has to be a 1st no doubt.

I never seen that before.

You kick the xtra point and go up 8 in the closing minutes of a game.

Then they have to go for 2 on the other end.

One of a kind stupid move.

Didn`t matter though.

Not a great call. Not an awful call. It's one of those marginal calls that depends on the assessment of various probabilities, of which the head coach on the sideline is probably much more capable of correctly doing than you or I or some half drunk smuck in the Bayou watching on the couch in his gumbo stained wife beater.

No one cares, but i could not agree more,I don't see one good reason to go for 2,you.kick.the.extra.point.and.make.them.score.a.td.and.make.the.2.and.this.damn.space.bar.still.does.not.work.lolazzkick(&^

Bottom line, do the math.

The odds of tying a game with a team up 8 are lower than if they are up 7. Carroll once again tried to overthink the situation.

You are leaving out the odds of winning if you convert and go up by 9. That's a big part of the math.
