continue to foul when then are down more than 13 points with 40 seconds left in the game. I had this game begged exactly right yet the under goes down in the final 30 seconds.

What I am doing is making a note of what coaches tell his players to foul with no reason since the game is out of hand and what coaches tell their players to let the clock run out. This can easily add 8-12 points to a total in the last minute of a game.

Live and learn.

I agree with you. I had the under, as well and that sucked. But, OU is not a very good free throw shooting team so that might have played a part in his decision to foul so much.

Texas, also a bad FT shooting team, shot 12-14 from the line.

I'm just shaking my head at this game when I look at the boxscore. Texas shoots 22% from 3pt range, 34% from the field only shoots 14 free throws and still gets 63 points! I felt great after the first half.

Any Oklahoma was still missing free throws down the stretch. I'm just laughing at myself because I make an under bet in this game with the line at 139 100 out of 100 times and I probably win 85 of them. It just stinks in the short term. :nohead:

this late game fouling (in the name of "never giving up") is ruining the game of basketball and somebody can get hurt for no reason at all.

It all gets down to a lack of class on the part of the coaches.

i gotta agree with you. i realize they are only trying to win, but I'd love to know when the last time a team made up a 13 point deficit with 40 seconds left by fouling. On the Division 1 level at a minimum....

It sure is hard to get any of my friends to go see a basketball game at school. My girl groans about it all the time..."I hate basketball, the end of the game stretches on forever and its just foul foul foul"

again, i know its just a futile attempt to win, and we have all probably benefited from it at one time or another by covering some spreads due to some last second charity points, but from a fan's perspective it really stinks.

I just dont understand why they kept putting Griffin in the game and out of the game with under a minute left...I mean the guy subbed in up 15 with 20 seconds left..if he got hurt there Capel would look like a big dope
