+ whatever the number inflates to at gametime.

Pitt, who just was handed the #1 crown, is in the middle of a 3 game stretch of playing bad teams. Game #1, Depaul, they did not cover at home. Tonight is game #2. MistaFlava himself says in his writeup that Pitt plays down to bad opponents, & you should expect the same outcome tonight. The #1 spot tends to be a jinx - once you reach the top, there is nowhere to go but down. Given that Pitt has clenched going to the dance, they are in a complacent frame of mind.

On the other hand, Providence is a bubble team & absolutely needs to win to have a shot at March madness. You are going to have big road chalk in a letdown spot against a desperate team at home.

I know you will look at the Louisville game last night & say hey! The better team will clobber the bad team, even if they are desparate. But don't be fooled because GT is a POS while Providence does have some reliable offensive horses that should keep this game close.

I know it will be shocking to see Providence make a game of it at the end, after having watched Pitt be up by DD for most of the game. But when the shit hits the fan, Providence is covering, front door or back.

You pose some good points as PROV is not your typical joker team. They can keep it close... so if anything--it's a backdoor. I really liked PITT though.

Yes, PC can score, but when they decide to play D it will be the 1st time all year.

Personally, don't like the game, but PC has been blown out at home before and were very fortunate to make a late run vs Nova.

i will also add that top 25 teams laying big points had a terrible weekend, & this looks like another one of those games.

Carib's numbers are showing Pitt at 90% & with by far the most action on the college card. Someones getting hurt tonight, Vegas or the players.

If Providence was so bad this would be a 16 point line. Look at Duke at st johns last week, -14. 8 points looks like a gimmee to the Pitt backers. We all know that this is when Vegas makes their money. When it looks too easy.

Who did Pitt play down to? In the last 7 games pitt has won by at least 11 other than to uconn who they beat by 8. 23 of their games they have won by 10+. Maybe they didn't cover the 45 point spread, but they won in fine fashion.

Providence is not very appealing at all. They are a mid talented team at best. They fail to be consistent and I think you find that providence doesn't get it done period.

Pitt may be going to the big dance, but don't kid yourself, everybody still wants to be in the #1 seed. Look at Kansas and OU. Both of them will go to the dance also, but they aren't giving up.

So, I am guessing you think they will tank the 1st game in NYC come the Big East Tourney?

It has never amazed me that sportsbook continue to make money with this kind of wonderful logic.

Doesn't mean Pitt covers, but eventually this stupid thinking will catch up with you. This is not the NBA, where everyone except Boston, Kobe and Lebron don't care.

i can see pitt getting into a track meet tonight with PC tonight. It's been a while since they've given up 70 but PC can score, they just can't defend. Lvill, NDU, SH, Syr, Uconn, Nova, and Marquette all scored 90+ on PC so no reason Pitt doesn't do the same. Pitt 92-77

btw jdub Pitt clinched the tourney 2 weeks ago and have been kicking everyone's ass since...not a very good reason to bet against them

i recognize this play is on a team that is putrid ATS vs a team that is gold.
But that is the miracle of gambling. That all the numbers go one way, but somehow, Pitt lays an egg. Or Providence discovers defense. if one can just read numbers & win picks the casinos would be out of business.

PS bigtendominator. Complacency in the #1 spot is not a desert mirage where vegas makes their money off squares that are all over providence on the complacency angle. They make their money when everyone is on one side thinking the better team will always dominate, like in tonights spot. If you think being #1 makes them highly motivated then you sir are the one with stupid thinking. Look at all the #1s this season how long were they up there? Did carolina's motivation to be #1 kick in when they got their asses kicked in Terptown?

ah if pitt did happen to get up big they could get a little complacent its hard to avoid for any bigtime team in road games this late in the year.
