I am thinking of making a trip there and never have played live poker there. Are there too many sharp players. Is smoke allowed or do they have non smoking tables? I don't see why casinos deal it with their share being so low

A good pokerroom brings customers in the casino that will spend money in other parts of the casino.

Not only them, but their friends and family too.

I saw a show on Video poker on travel channel. Is that a good game. The guy pointed to the 10-7 on the video computer. Does it make a diffence what machine you play out there?

There are both truly sharp players and an incredible influx of truly atrocious players due to the increase in popularity of the game.

To some extent this is determined by the limits you play and the casino location.

I find a mix is best since no-foldem holdem has a huge variance for your bankroll. I understand the Bellagio 2/4 game is this type of lottery.

In order to win you need to be better than 2-4 players at your table and figure out who the donors are while limiting your own donations.

Yes, the machine makes all the difference if playing perfect stategy.

The 10/7 bonus that you referred to returns 100.17% with perfect stategy.........which makes it a longterm win for the educated player in the long run.

Throw in a good slot card and a nice promotion, and you have a very nice play on your hands that will yield you some nice profits.

As far as live poker and playing anything LESS than a 4-8 limit game you will have a very hard time winning due to the rake and the tokes to the dealers.

Good players can still profit though.

Most games of 30-60 and above exist merely to feed off of one or two poor players. Before a bad player comes to the table, the good players get together and often take it fairly easy on each other waiting for the game to get going. The 15-30 and 20-40 games are usually 3 or 4 solid players, 3 or 4 players that have some idea but aren't long-term winners, and a couple that are the fish. As you go down in limits the players slowly work down the scale where the solid ones become more middling players and the middling players are closer to the live ones, but the house is increasing its relative take.
