Live Handicapping Saturday 3/2/24

It's Fountain of Youth day at Gulfstream. There are 14 races carded, the first being at 11:15 Eastern and the last, the Fountain of Youth, a Kentucky Derby prep race, being at 6:10 Eastern. So we have a long day of racing ahead of us. The track is listed as fast and firm so all races should go as originally carded. That's great.

Tampa is also listed as fast and firm. That means turf racing at both Florida tracks today. Super.

I'm opening the thread now because I'm going to have to leave before we get much racing in. My 12 yo niece is a little basketball star and she has a game at 1:30 which I promised her I'd go to. That means that I'll be out of here by 12:45 at the very latest. It so happens that the town she's playing in today is only about five miles from the simulcast track I go to these days, Seabrook in New Hampshire so I may just head over there after depending on a couple of things.

The #8 had no excuses. Paco rode him beautifully. He just had no finishing kick. Comes in 5-11 for a nice exacta to start the day. But not for me.

Her sights are on U Conn. She's been to a few of their games. But that's a looooong way to go. More of a dream I would say. I just hope she keeps progressing and loving the game the way she does now, I think that's the wecret to life!

But I'd be proud to see her as a Gamecock. You have a beautiful state.
