former DB Silver subscriber, current G&J gold subscriber
I was with DB Silver for the last 4 years or so; reasonable product for reasonable price. With the 2 min. delay, I was able to get down on the number seen on the screen approximately 70% of the time. The thing I like most about DB was there custormer support. Whenever ANYTHING went wrong, I could ALWAYS get someone on the phone.
By purchasing a multi-monthly pkg. the service was around $93/month. Since I am not a middler/scapler (not that there is anything wrong with that), nor do I look to bet steam games, this was an acceptable alternatitve.
I have been using G&J Gold for 1.5 months now. @ $250/month, it is 1.5 X more expensive than DB Silver, but less than 1/2 the price of DB Gold, what it purports to compete with. I made the switch for 2 reasons:
1. The "quality" of books listed had drastically changed for the better. Before I could only get around 50% of the books I play at on their screen. Now, over 90% of the books I use are on their feed, saving me time when I do my shopping.
2. Software drastically improved. There platform is very stable now and user friendly.
With the G&J Gold, I am able to get down on 100% of the screen numbers I have seen so far. Obviously, this is a marked improvement to DB Silver, but that is not a fair comparison, apples to oranges, so to speak.
The only drawback to G&J so far I have found is customer service, or more specifically, tech support. Two times I had problems getting the software to either load or work properly. This was not durnig "prime wagering hours." But, neither time, I could not get anyone on thie phone to help me. Very frustrating, and, and area they could use some improvement in.
All said, I will be continuing with G&J, in some form or another. I may drop down to Silver (which is priced 33% lower than DB Silver) or may continue with Gold. If I hadn't been on such a bad downswing with my wagers, I would definitely continue with the Gold, lol
I hope this honest 1st hand opinion helps someone who is looking for info on both these fine services.
