The nation's top radio host Rush Limbaugh expands to sports TV this fall, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Limbaugh will join ESPN-TV in September, industry sources reveal, during NFL Sunday Countdown.

MORE

Limbaugh will provide a two-minute essay near the top of each show and participate in discussions during the show, sources say.

Terms of the deal with ESPN/DISNEY are not known.

"I am adding to my work load, not taking anything away from it," Limbaugh assured his radio audience. "Nothing is going to change."

"Football is like life and I know life. I am a big fan of the NFL and now I get to do what every football fan would love to do. I get to take my observations from the living room couch to the ESPN studios and talk football..."

Dennis Miller and now Rush.....

Is this some type of conspiracy to see if they can raise the suicide rate of NFL fans?

Rush started out in sports. Rush knows football and will do a great job. Everyone will love him. Rush is no Dennis Miller.

So now Howard Stern will be trying out for the chair on Monday night football just to even things up.

In the early 80's I used to catch Rush on am radio in Missouri. He did a fantastic job with baseball and I have no doubt he will do an excellent job this time around. Because of his love for the game, and his respect for his profession, his politics will not be a part of it.

Can you imagine Stern on MNF, he would spend all his time saying "we gotta ask Lisa what's going on down there" just so he can make some Dennis Miller quality comment.

I for one thought Dennis Miller was great for preseason, like anyone cares about those games. Once the games counted he did kinda distract everyone, but he sure as hell was better than Dan Fouts, that was the guy that I couldn't stand, he made me believe that he would go into McDonalds on a Sunday morning with a tie on he was so damn straightlaced and uptight. In any event who really needs these guys anyways, every weekend the theory that you need good commentators/announcers is brought into question by the popularity of going to a sportsbook and watching a game with nothing on. Sure they are watching because they got money on the game, but are people watching at home much different?

I don't like the guy either. But what are the Networks up to here? Certaintly he has no great football knowledge. Is it going to be a comedy type thing? The suits at the networks aren't completely stupid--maybe they figure he has enough of a following to raise the show ratings, but many (such as I) will be turned off unless it's some type of comedy segment!
