... and I lost my OVER.

It's now 25-17, and now Seattle will have a chance...

That's exactly what he did, and he probably won't admit it....:breakit:

I actually wanted to write this, because I seriously doubt many others noticed this...

But, I will have to hear about that 58-year old E. Smith still a force..:ohno:

I'm 100% sure, Holmgren let him score.......................

It was a GREAT call for me...lol It helped me win this 7-team parlay today. Sometimes these "just for fun" parlays actually do pay off

I don't know why more coaches don't think this way...when the game would otherwise be over....

How about the intentional saftey by Belichick last year in the Denver game - great call by a head coach. Belichick's call for a deliberate safety with his team, trailing 24-23, backed up on their own 1 on fourth down with 2:49 left. The safety made Denver's lead 26-23, but it gave New England punting room and Ken Walter's free kick put the Broncos back to their own 15. The Broncos went three and out and New England had to drive just 58 yards after getting the ball back with 2:15 left after using two timeouts. The Pats were able to drive for the winning TD and win the game 30-26.

Perfect example ...I had forgot about that one....

Belichick's one coach who will take a calculated chance, something we see less and less of it seems.

(sigh...) Wrong!
It was a 3rd and long play, with Arz leading by one. Stop Smith and Arz kicks 3 ... Seattle trails by 4 with enough time left to score a td and win.

If it was truly a situation in which it was to Seattle's advantage to let him score then why wouldn't Dennis Green tell Emmitt to run to the 1 yard line and lay down?

Holmgren let Smith score.

No Time Outs left.

3rd Down, then.

Another play would have left less than a minute left..... and that's assuming he didn't fall down between the 12 and the endzone, where the Cardinals could do some kneeldowns, and never give the ball back.

Check the highlights. How'd Seattle get so slow all of a sudden????.......

Because Green (and selfish Smith) didn't think of it....

Plus it's bad for the 'Integrity' of the Game...

In reality Emmitt should have went out at the one yard line than...but even if he

knew the situation he would have still went in for the TD...

It comes down to, can you take a knee a couple times, or can you hold a team from scoring a TD with a minute left (I don't know the exact time)

I was watching it, and figuring at the time would Holmgren do this defensively.

Two Minute warning, Arizona's on 3rd down. If Smith just ran OOB for the 1st down, kneeldowns would have closed the game @ 18-17.

I'm positive, just sharing this information, as that 'Under' was only one of 50+ plays for me this weekend. :biglaugh:

Would have been a nice day had the zona game stayed under. Bottom line is it went over and I ended up 1-1 for the day losing vig. Back to work. I only bet NFL/NBA so have to wait another week. The NBA can't come soon enough.

There will be many more games like this you have to take them in stride for the good and bad.
