Looking ahead to a game Thursday nite I can only say this is a rare time as a dog player that I would not hesitate to lay the 45 cents on the homestanding Flyers. imo 45 cents (Pinn) is cheap for a team that has run the table at home so far in the playoffs. After a blow-out win in Tampa on Monday night the Flyers will be sky high in front of frenzied Philly crowd. Look for Philadelpiha power play to be the difference. For the more intrepid gambler I like Philly -1.5 plus 200 (Pinn.) also.

Only one problem, the game is Thursday, thus giving the BOLTS one extra day to recoup.

good for you. TB gets at least 1 in philly and since they will be dogs both games WHEN they go 1-1 at worst i will make money.

TB +130 is a play i am on BIG TIME and for what it is worth - bobby bryde (former hockey maven on this site) loves TB, too

No matter who wins the next game, I believe game #4 on Saturday is going to be one heckuva game.

I really do believe the Lightning getting that extra day off before game #3 is a huge factor that I havent heard anybody talk about.

Think it slows down the Flyers momentum in some regards and also allows the BOLTS to regain their composure.

I don't think momentum has much to do with hockey games at this point. Neither does extra days on or off unless it affects which players are available due to injury. Lightning played a bad game and that will be easy to get out of their system. Equally speaking I don't think the Flyers will do anything differently nor do I think the crowd will be anymore juiced because of what happened. Philly crowds are always the same no matter the situation and this Flyers team is a well coached veteran team that knows they just have to execute and all these factors that some think about often just leads to over analyzing the situation. I think the teams are very evenly matched with both capable of winning big games on road ice. Should be close, but I wouldn't rule out any result here between two wins by either team or a split. The game will go to the harder working team that gets the bounces and scores with them, just like it almost always works deep in the NHL playoffs.

I see a clear advantage here for Philly. Not only are they at home, where they are 6-0 in the playoffs, but coming off a similar win like game 5 vs. Toronto (7-2 Flyers) then they went on the road and closed out the series with a 3-2 win. In this case they are going home off the lop-sided victory. The Flyers have figured out that they need to control he middle agaist the Bolts who in case everyone has forgotten have ONLY beaten the Islanders, and Canadiens so far. The Flyers have knocked off defending champ New Jersey, and a desparate to win Maple Leaf team. Flyer power play will be a major factor in this game, no way Philly loses at home.

stop it boys, you guys who are saying that TB will win sound like a bunch of losers. NO WAY TB has any chance to win this series. If only you knew how dumb you sound. This series is over boys.. Philly is too strong for TB. I dont care who likes TB, even if his name is Bobby Bryde or Schmobby Bride. I dont care if the pope loves TB, Philly is winning.

Even Wilheim, whos been wrong all playoffs is going to bet Philly. The only thing that scares me is that I am fearing willy boy is going to bring me bad luck and jinx my Flyers. I dont like the feeling of having wilski on the same side as me.. This is really scaring me. Willy, do you really have to bet the Flyers that game?

VOORHEES, N.J. (AP) The Tampa Bay Lightning won't let the Philadelphia Flyers push them around or verbally abuse them.

The bad blood between the Eastern Conference finals opponents intensified Wednesday, with Lightning coach John Tortorella delivering a stern message to Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock: ''Shut your yap.''

The series, tied at 1, resumes Thursday night in Philadelphia, where the Flyers are 6-0 in the playoffs. The Lightning are 4-0 on the road this postseason.

Philadelphia's 6-2 victory Monday night turned ugly in the third period, with the teams combining for 25 penalties totaling 118 minutes, including a few fights. The physical play didn't bother either coach. Tortorella, however, took exception because he said Hitchcock had words with some Lightning players.

''Last time I looked, he's wearing a suit back there, the same type of suit I'm wearing,'' Tortorella said. ''He's not in the battle. There are two quality teams here. He should shut his yap. It's not about him. It's about two quality teams.

''We understand how Philly works as far as the dialogue that goes on with all this stuff here, but when it comes to a coach to an opposing player, it's disrespectful and it's wrong. That's got to stop. Park your ego. Shove it in your pocket.''

Told of Tortorella's comments, Hitchcock kept his simple.

''Tell him to mind his own business,'' Hitchcock said.

Hitchcock had plenty to say after Game 2 because he was angry that constant replays of Donald Brashear's hit on Lightning forward Tim Taylor which didn't result in a penalty were shown on the arena's video screen.

Hitchcock said the replays were used to incite the crowd, and the NHL later reprimanded the in-game crew for violating league policy.

''We knew going into this series Bobby Clarke, the general manager, was going to be working as hard as he can behind the scenes as far as whining about this, that, the other thing,'' Tortorella said. ''We know Hitch is going to be talking about anything that's on his mind and will talk to anybody who'll listen to him. We accept that. It's something that can't bother us and it won't bother us. It won't hurt us in our preparation.''

Tortorella and the Lightning have more to worry about on the ice now that the Flyers have won a game. Tampa Bay had won eight straight against Philadelphia, including all four meetings in the regular season.

The Flyers outplayed the Lightning in a 3-1 series-opening loss, then dominated Game 2. They sent goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin, who came in with a 1.00 goals-against average, to the bench with four goals on their first 12 shots, and never let up.

''The good thing is, no matter what the score is, we only lost one game,'' Khabibulin said. ''We've got to stay positive. It wasn't our best game and everybody realizes that. We'll have to play better next game.''

The Flyers are hoping to build on their latest lopsided victory just as they did against Toronto in the conference semifinals. Philadelphia won Game 5 against the Maple Leafs 7-2, then closed them out with a 3-2 overtime victory in Toronto.

''We need to move onward and upward,'' Flyers captain Keith Primeau said. ''It's a similar situation to the Toronto series. We're going to be ready. We'll build on the confidence we've created here.''

The Flyers have been successful because Hitchcock altered his game plan for this series. Instead of playing a conservative defensive style, the Flyers are taking risks on offense, creating more odd-man rushes that lead to better scoring opportunities.

Also, Philadelphia has been the faster team against Tampa Bay, which has several speedy forwards.

''We've got the best adjustment maker in Hitch and he's done that for us not only every series, but within series, within periods,'' Primeau said. ''We just follow his lead.''

Just bumping up a reminder. I played Flyers at -145 on Tuesday, now at -149 (Pinn.). War of words in the media is a sideshow, the real action will start tonight in the City of Brotherly Love. Look for the Flyers to continue to stifle Lacavalier, and St. Martin again tonight. Flyers own the first period and are simply the better team right now.

BOL. wil.

2 units on Flyers -145.
1 unit on Flyers -1.5 +200 (Pinn.)
Line has moved some.

the great thing about this is in about a week - one of us will be a genius - the other - not. i still like my chances with the bolts and taking them +105 to win the series (before G3) is a SOLID play to make.

Wilski, i can't believe for the first time we are going to be on the same side as each other for the first time ever. Usually you always cheered for the opposite of what i had. I just hope now you don't jinx my bet willy boy. Willy, i am getting nervous now with you on my side. Is there any way i can get you off my bet? What's your neteller account email, i'll pay you to get off the Flyers, i think you're going to jinx me, willy boy..

Sick - never mind jinxes, this is serious business. We can't let Wink, and Fish have bragging rights tonight. So concentrate on winning game 3. The Broad Street Bullies are back.

wilski, this series is OVER kiddo.

over, kaput, finished, done, fini, terminated..

FLYERS will defeat TB very easily this series. TB has no chance to beat this talented flyer team. This flyer team could very well be the best team and most talented team put together since the Oilers of the mid 80's.. This flyer team could very well the top 5 teams ever in NHL history. That's how good they are. They are so dominant..
