zeke made a good point about madsen...years ago he'd still be pitchin...i can't stand the pussification of these pitchers...ever heard of rollin with the hot hand...fuckin ego's in all walks of life will burn u every time...madsen shoulda finished this game up...let lidge cry in the corner f his feelings are hurt////aint it about THE TEAM!!! and WINNING?....and this from a dodger fan....i din't bet the game...but even a nobody like me could tell you madsen had a better chance at cleanin up in the 9th than lidge

the scary thing is how many of lidges blown saves were proceeded by 123, or even 1 walk, and 3 k inn by madsen.......hes got a great WHIP.......and hed be a candidate to close for just about anyone


u can argue that madsen doesnt have the stamina to go 2 innnings every time and last....but some of these games u need to win for the purpose of the standings...and let the guy who gives u the best chance to win that day do his thing

Lidge's WHIP is 417th in all of MLB.........most of the guys with WHIPs around his had very few innings pitched, or are guys teams have given up on......this is the most accurate way to track a pitchers tendency to get in trouble because it includes walks.............

Besides Joel hanrahan, and manny parra, and some injured stars like brandon webb....no one who plays regularly is as bad as Lidge in any capacity, starting, relieving, closing...

If theya re as bad as him, its because they have like 2 IP, or team has cut them long ago or sent them to minors

no one has really said this here....but madsen could close for most teams in baseball, high ks, and now that he cuts back on the walks, hes really better than anyone the phils have......and most teams have for that matter...................only a matter of time be4 they let lidge save face go on the DL, despite there being nothing wrong with him

and madsen picks up 2 consecutive saves vs the mets in the most pressure packed situation hes faced this year..........lidge, as predicted on the June 6th, goes to the DL with absolutely nothing wrong with him physically..........
