Gotta like Chuck. Evans hasn't shown the striking you need to beat Chuckie. Evans is a wrestler who won't be able to get the takedown. I've seen "Chuck vs. wrestler with limited striking" before... doesn't end up so well for Tito. Or Randy really even though Couture had better striking than Ortiz.

Jardine's a striker though. Chuck has issues with some strikers. Rashad is a wrestler, the type which Chuck destroys on the regular. I have not been impressed with Rashad's striking and when he can't get the takedown, he's going to have issues. Koscheck is a better striker IMO.

Anybody have any update on what Chuck has been up to lately?

I'd consider a play on Evans if Chuck is out of shape.

but chuck is a striker and not well on the ground. if rashad can take him down and stay away from his punches i think he could win. after all rashad is undefeated.

also what does everyone think about the franklin/hamill fight?

I think Hamill is getting KTFO. He likes to stand and trade but he's sloppy (albeit improving). He'll think he can strike for a little bit before trying a takedown but Franklin is gonna tee up and knock the kid out. He's just not ready yet.

PS, Chuck has a good enough ground game. He's not a stud submission guy but it's not because he can't... that's just not how he likes to fight.

He's fought Randy and Tito a total of 5 times and has only lost once and it was due to strikes. Rashad has never shown the standup to beat a guy like Chuck.

Also, Chuck has fought world-class submission guys like Babalu, Monson, and Horn and has never been submitted technically (his loss to Horn is listed as TKO, and it was almost ten years ago).

The only weakness that he has shown is getting clocked hard.

Rashad has only fought one guy who is close to upper level in the weightclass and that was Tito. Tito outwrestled Rashad and the only reason it's not a loss is because of a point deduction.

Has never faced an elite striker either and his chin isn't that tested. Chuck can avoid takedowns with the best of em and Rashad is gonna get caught.

Anyway, random thoughts from me.

is there a line out on franklin yet? that is as close to a lock as you get.

i like chuck in the fight with evans... he looks like he has lost a step but you know this stays on the feet (as chuck has one of the best sprawls around) and chuck can out strike evans for days.
