The Gini coefficient ranks the income inequality in a place on a scale from zero -- no inequality -- to 1, the maximum level of inequality. We've colored the boxes containing the Gini number by the 2012 margin in each state (or D.C.) to give an at-a-glance sense of the blue and red states. Paul's point was less about presidential results and our traditional measure of red and blue than state legislatures, but for our purposes this metric gets to the same point.
The top three locations are D.C., New York and Connecticut, all undeniably blue. At the bottom, Utah, Wyoming and Alaska -- all red.

why? as I've said many times before, when you make it more comfortable to live in poverty, the more people will choose to live it poverty. It's not rocket science, although it may still fly way over the heads of libtards (it has to, how else can you explain it?)

What has Obama's policies done? widened the gap between the haves and the have not. A rising tides raises all boats, and Obama's 7 years of economic malaise have grounded many many many boats.

What has happened since the advent of the libtarded great society?

but that's not the worst thing the great society has accomplished, it has totally destroyed the fabric of the inner city family

Milwaukee, democratic control since 1960, 55 years and counting

Philapedphia, democratic control since 1952, 63 years and counting

Memphis, democratic control since 1916, 99 years and counting

Tuscon, flip flops

Baltimore, democratic control since 1967

Fresno, republicans since 1996

El Paso, democrats since 1989

Indianapolis, flip flops

Boston, democrats since 1930

Louisville, democrats since 1969

Chicago, democrats since 1931

-------------------------------------------------------------

can we discuss banning liberalism and democratic mayors? or do we have to wait on that?

the correlation is undeniable

One day last week I ran across one of those Top 10 lists. The headline was the 10 Most Dangerous Cities and was based upon the CQ Press release of its 2009 City Crime Rate Rankings. The top ten cities were:

1. Camden, NJ
2. St. Louis, MO
3. Oakland, CA
4. Detroit, MI
5. Flint, MI
6. New Orleans, LA
7. Birmingham, AL
8. Cleveland, OH
9. Jackson, MS
10. Memphis, TN

Two things struck me. One: I was pretty sure that all were run by Democrats. Two: I was almost as sure that they were all majority black.

Looking for a correlation somewhere, I started to do a bit of research. Indeed all ten are run by Democrats and have been for a long time... an average of over 40 years, with the shortest being almost 20.

-----------------------------------------------

Never mind banning guns, all we need to do is ban libtardism,

Are you really suggesting a lower Gini coefficient is always better? That we would all be best off if there was no income inequality and everyone always earned the same income?

Another sound bite thread. A rising tide raises all boats is a total myth. It's been debunked for years now but this walking talking point just keeps saying it. Still living in the 80's.

Everywhere modern liberalism takes control, inequality increases. It is so funny to watch these economic illiterates talk about this stuff.

I'm simply stating a fact, liberalism makes the difference between the haves and the have nots greater

and being a compassionate person, I want everyone to have more, our end game is the same as yours although y'all think otherwise and spread that lie like dust in the wind

Everyone can achieve in life what they want in my world, just not at the expense of other people, especially since that methodology is a failure

So what you are saying is that liberalism is fighting against a classless, Marxist society by allowing us to earn what we are worth, even if that isn't equal to everyone else.

(also that all the differences between New York and Wyoming is caused by the letter next to the name of the government officials they elect. That is definitely a fact.)

please take your silly psycho analysis elsewhere, especially when it doesn't make sense

1) liberalism implements policies to create equality, and it fails. It mandates government solutions

2) I espouse smaller government, low taxes and fewer regulations to allow the private sector and personal freedoms to grow the economy

what you're arguing is senseless, mindbogglingly senseless

WTF?

next week, how Willie99 advocates the restriction of gun ownership, drive by abortions and the growth of the welfare state (and some liberal is going to lecture me about the impact of a tax policy too. Oh wait, that already happens)

The only thing I'm arguing is that a Gini coefficient of 0.42 is not necessarily better than a Gini of 0.52. Are you so blinded by ideology that you can't agree with that?

my argument is not so much about the rating system at all, and I know different variables are in play

my argument is that there's an undeniable correlation between attempts to manage income disparity and income disparity. What's better or worse is for you to decide. Different people have different value systems. I tend to be a bottom line guy.

so in my opinion, while you're trying to call me out, you're not addressing my argument

Willie, vitterd is too fucking stupid to understand these numbers. And he doesn't have Alaska in here to post some meaningless percentage change statistics to defend your assertions, which are 100% spot on.

Of course he won't address your argument, he'll just say some dumb shit like "Why do your think making more money makes you better?"

Answer - Because it does.

All men are born equal, doesn't mean we all die equal.
