Tim Allen’s show ‘Last Man Standing’ was one of the more popular shows on ABC and it was definitely a favorite among conservatives.
It’s not hard to figure out why. It was one of the few shows on television unafraid to question liberal ideology.

Here’s an example.

For some strange reason, ABC canceled the show despite high ratings.

A lot of conservatives out there have a pretty good idea why the show got axed and it looks like there is a boycott brewing.

From Washington Examiner:

Petitions and boycotts against ABC are building after the network unexpectedly canceled its hit “Last Man Standing,” a move critics believe was prompted by star Tim Allen’s outspoken conservative politics and support for President Trump.

“‘Last Man Standing’ is one of the only shows on broadcast television, and the only sitcom, that is not constantly shoving liberal ideals down the throats of the viewers. And sadly, that is likely the real reason the show has been cancelled,” said a new petition on Change.org which collected nearly 10,000 signatures overnight.

“With a plethora of ultra-liberal shows available on television, this show stood out from the rest and motivated conservatives who voted for President Trump. Please demand that Congress investigate whether LMS was cancelled for political reasons,” said another on PetitionCongress.org.

ABC can do whatever they want. They can create and cancel any show they want.

However, the viewers have some power here too. Television is all about ratings. ‘Last Man Standing’ was getting them. So, if you are going to cancel a show that a lot of people like you have to also be prepared for the possibility that there will be some upset viewers.

It’s pretty much impossible to argue that this wasn’t a political move.

ESPN, part of the same company, is having problems with liberal politics too.

Just stop playing politics. It’s not rocket science.

lmao....you guys are bigger snowflakes than the liberals you mock. Oh no they took my tv show...how about looking at it from a business perspective as we conservatives are supposed to do or are we only pro the open market and sound business decisions when it benefits our needs, can we lose the hypocrisy?

Television is a business. Allen is a top 15 paid tv star. ABC doesn't own the rights to the show, it's produced by a third party so they're paying a premium to air it which makes it a very costly show to put on the air, and they're not reaping the all benefits of syndication as the owners of the show are which again isn't ABC. That's a big output for a show that is a middle of the pack in key demos. Stats as they say are often misleading so the story goes, its the top friday show with high ratings but fridays are irrelevant on the tv landscape, and so winning friday means very little until it translates into ad revenue. Last man standing is in the bottom 3rd in ad revenue with one of the highest costs to air for a 30 minute show. Shows that generated similar ad revenue, Grimm cancelled, Dr Ken cancelled, Sleepy hollow cancelled, Oneals cancelled. Pitch earned significantly more, was a critical darling and a glorified female empowerment training video and it was cancelled. 2 broke girls earned nearly twice as much revenue and it was cancelled. Eventually a shows cost will outweigh its generating power, that point was reached for Last man standing and seeing as its ratings have steadily dipped and track records show, that shows rarely regain traction and put up bigger numbers after that long on air that it was a dead man walking. But feel free to be all dramatic about it if it makes you feel better but you come across sounding like the guys you mock for being hysterical. I'd have canned it to.

Tim Allen speaks out, says he was BLINDSIDED by ABC in cancelling ‘Last Man Standing’

MAY. 17, 2017 11:58 AM BY THE RIGHT SCOOP128 COMMENTS

Apparently Tim Allen is not happy at all that ABC canceled his show “Last Man Standing”, pointing out on Twitter that he is stunned and was blindsided by the network:

FOX NEWS – Tim Allen is speaking out days after ABC canceled his show “Last Man Standing.”

ABC announced it canceled Allen’s show after six seasons last week telling Fox News “this was a scheduling decision.” The network was immediately hit with criticism that the show was axed due to its conservative values and a petition on Change.org to have it reinstated in the lineup has racked up more than 200,000 signatures in less than a week.

Allen finally took to Twitter to respond to the news.

“Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years,” he wrote Tuesday night.

Allen and his co-star Hector Elizondo declined to comment to Fox News about the cancellation. His co-stars Nancy Travis, Kaitlyn Dever, Molly Ephraim and Christoph Sanders did not return Fox News’ request for comment.

However, Nancy Travis, who plays Allen’s wife Vanessa Baxter on the show, has been retweeting fans’ efforts to boycott ABC until they bring back “Last Man Standing.”

Amanda Fuller, who plays Allen’s daughter Kristen asked fans to sign the petition in support of the show and shared an emotional note on Twitter.

“To all the devoted ‘Last Man Standing’ fans, thank you,” she wrote in a lengthy note. “I believe in the power that lies in storytelling being a mirror to our world, representing all voices…and for that reason I have always been proud and honored to be a part of ‘Last Man Standing,’ the only sitcom today that I feel truly strived to do that.”

The cancellation came as a shock for many fans considering the show’s high ratings. Deadline reports the sitcom was the network’s second-highest comedy this season and averaged 8.1 million viewers, just behind “Modern Family,” which averaged 8.7 million viewers this season and was recently renewed for two more seasons. It was also ABC’s third highest watched scripted series behind “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Modern Family.”

It is stunning for a network to cancel a show that has such high ratings, considering they can charge more for ads on a high rated show.

Tim Allen clearly wasn’t part of this decision making process and when you put all of this together, there probably is something to the theories that the show was targeted for being more of the conservative bent, especially in the era of Trump.

I hope people do boycott ABC. After all, it feels like ABC is spitting in the faces of their fans and they deserve to feel the consequences.
