If this can happen, wouldn't one engine get knocked out fairly often, calling for an emergency landing, on a nearby runway ?

Now if they are at altitude with some fuel burned off, they can fly pretty well on one.

It was a top secret water ditch test by the FAA using a jet with live passengers...The geese were top secret mechanical geese with jet homing devices in a joint live test with NASA to see if the guidence systems worked as programmed...The CIA will use he mechanical geese in Afghanistan to home in on Bin Laden while being camoflaged as geese...At that time the geese will be fitted with tiny but powerful rockets & if everything goes as planned the war on terror will be over by the end of the year.
