i recently stayed at the wynn and received the poker rate. they used to have solid
40-80 limit game there, but i found out that doesn't get spread very much nowadays.
the highest limit was 4-8. needing many hours to get my poker rate, i ended up playing
no limit. normally i'd play the 5-10, but there never appeared to be any real live ones
(this was midweek) so i played lower. just so you understand, i really don't like no limit,
it's not my strongest game and i really prefer limit, especially short-handed limit.
so i played the 2-5 and 1-3 no limit (i'm pretty sure those were the blinds) for about
10 hours to fulfill my 2 day poker rate. the games were incredibly simple. rarely
did i not know exactly where i stood in the hand. people were calling raises on
hands that should be mucked even if there was no raise and calling large river bets
with cards that had no chance. there were a few players that tried to play good, but
if you were paying attention you knew what they had and never had to pay them off
or could make them pay you off when they were drawing slim or dead. i've never played
that low, but my impressions are that if you can't beat low no limit holdem stakes then
you really are a very weak player.
