Its no secret that Navy is a very good team this year. High power offense, strong rushing that setups some passing plays. They have been able to put points up in chunks and have been able to play decent defense all year. Its no secret that Army isn't very good either offensively or defensively. Every year they play each other and know each others schemes very well. I do believe Navy is much improved from last year and this game should be not at close as last years performance. But, how much does each team motivation come into play here? Navy going to a bowl game, the military bowl vs pitt, as Army is going nowhere. I believe Navy will not overlook Army and certainly should beat Army. However, Army being their last game and against Navy should be highly motivated and Navy will certainly not risk too much by running up the score. They may get ahead some and play it soft as to prevent any injuries to key players and allow Army to stay within the number. Am I missing something? Army +22 for me. Any insights or comments always welcome!

First, I don't care who wins this game...I pull for all the service academies.

Got to like Navy the better team by 42-14 score.

To all fellow members outside the US - motivation is never a question in this game for either side. This is arguably the biggest rivalry in American sports and the most bet game of the year! BOL to all!

Stander- are you implying that I am not from the US? Not sure what was meant by that statement or that this is the most bet game of the year?? I would have to agree that the Super Bowl is the highest bet game but that is irrelevant . I do believe that motivation isn't lacking on either side just wondering if Navy would continue to score when they are up and don't need to for any reason...

Jr - no idea where you're from and didn't mean to imply anything. Sorry if I did. But in recent years I've seen a few "Navy might be looking ahead" threads, some by non-US members (who have learned the great American game and are as good as betting it as most) and someone always comes in to offer a word of caution for any who might be reading not familiar with this rivalry since childhood and this year I thought I would do it.

And I have read this is the most bet game of the year. Think about how many in the US Army and Navy. Makes sense. I'm sure the SB garners the most pools etc but how many people ha e no dog in the fight don't give a shit about the side? If I'm way out of line so be it.

Army players would offer a limb in exchange for a win here. And Navy would beat the Army by 100 if they could.

BOL everyone!

Line looks a little inflated imo over 21 as I made this 18.5. Unfortunately Army is below the power rated of team that I consider betting on. Sometimes I will ignore this minor detail for a rivalry game which this game certainly qualifies. Would lean Army, but need some more convincing in order to play.

I believe Army has had three weeks to prepare but I'm not sure if that will matter....

A little bit of history of the Army-Navy football game....Back in 1945 The Black Knights were a power-house....Under Coach Earl "Red" Blaik they ended up winning the National Championship going (9-0). Army had two All-Americans, running back, Glen Davis (Mr. Outside) & full-back, Doc Blanchard (Mr. Inside).....He won the Heisman that year. Their (9) wins included victories over 9th ranked Michigan 28-7, 6th ranked Penn State, 61-0, and in the last game of the season they beat then, 2nd ranked Navy 32-13. I was just a Kid back 1945 but I "listened" to everyone of those games......on the radio....ha. No TV then. Bill Stern was the announcer. World War ll had just ended then but all the great football players were still in the Services including the Military Academies....Army & Navy had the better share.

The post-war (1945) Army-Navy game launched what I called the very beginning of the modern era of college football (the T-Formation and the wide-use of the forward Pass).

The (2015) Army-Navy game will again be an be an exciting, well fought football game even if Navy is a (22) point favorite...Enjoy.....On TV..ha

Oh what the hell, give me Army getting 21.5 in a rivalry game with a total of 50 is too hard to resist. Word is that Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo will interview for the BYU job come Monday, so maybe that is a bit of a distraction. Navy also has a bowl bid in their pocket so while I'm not saying this is a look ahead spot for the Midshipmen, I think this is Army's "Super Bowl" so to speak.

Mack, being a December bowl game, shouldn't this have been a dog play?
Army actually spent a lo of time with a lead. Could have won straight up but didn't.
