the ones that - for G7 of TB/Philly insist on hanging a total of 4.5 with Over -145 and Under +125 (ish).

way to go boys. talk about gutless.

how about showing some balls and instead making the total 5 and both sides around -110 each.

books that hang 4.5 with that kind of juice are nothing more than chicken sh*t books afraid to show some cajones.

gentlemen (and calling some of you men is giving you the benefit of the doubt) you would get a more action at 5 with juice closer to -110 instead of the way it is now.

now - all you are doing is chasing away action on the total - which might be your goal all along for we know you have been getting killed by the nhl playoffs.

I thought there was an iron clad rule that it is ALWAYS better to give up juice and take the better NUMBER.

What is the problem. Best way to punish them is make them pay. Go ahead and unbuckle and hammer their ass.

anyone dumb enough to lay -145 on a total deserves to lose their bet - for as i'm sure fezzik would point out - doing so will send you to the poorhouse ASAP.

i wish the books would knock this off and hang a 5! we know we will never see one come Cup time.

But -1.45 is just a number. If you are SOOOOO sure it is going over... Then bet the thing, and be thankful for the 4.5. I am sure you have bet sides before at -1.45.

Absolutely NO DIFFERENCE. Just their way of suckering some people to the under. Seems to me the books are now thinking it will fly over. They don't think they can keep anyone off the over at five... So they hang 4.5 and lure people in with the plus juice on the under.

If this started at 4.5 -1.10, then they just don't want to get sided. Can't blame them for that.

I don't even follow hockey... Just speaking from a completely mathematical standpoint.

winky- As long as they keep hanging 4 1/2 out there for a total and it keeps going over, wouldn't it be better to just play it and cash the bet rather than wondering why they don't post a 5?

Seems to me like the books would move on action and the lines would balance out hovering the 110 mark, but honestly screw it, the plus figures have done ok.

I find Winky Duck's post just a little ridiculous.

1) Plenty of select -145 good bets out there. I just bet Lakers -220 to win the Minny series, etc.

2) Sure, we all would LOVE to bet under 5, -110, simply because that would be a flawed conversion from over 4.5, -145. However, how about playing a more realistice under 5, -122 vs. under 4.5, +125? With the correct conversions, their is no real difference in the two lines.
