The US is not the only country backing this war. You anti-war groupies maintain that the US has alienated the rest of the world.

Apart from France, Germany and Russia, who all have ENORMOUS financial incentives to keep Sadam in charge there aren't many other "civilized" countries opposed to the war.

Last I count we have an enormous amount of allies and countries that support the war: England, Spain, Portugal, Italy, most of the Eastern European Countries, Australia.

I don't count the Middle East since I don't consider most of them to be cilivized. Like I give a shit about what Syria, a member of the security council, says about the war.

This is always broached and is never ever true. This "coalition" of two countries (and some troops from the Aussies) is a joke. The US is a joke, thanks to Mr. Bush and his minions.

It has been pointed our elsewhere in this thread that France and Germany stand to lose more financially if Saddam where to remain in power.

England, uh I think you meant to say Tony Blair supports the war, the English public is mad as hell at him and there's a strong chance his political career is over.
Basically the same situation with the Ausi Prime Minister.
I live in Costa Rica, here you see bumper stickers, and flags on car antenas protesting the war, people organizing protest marches. And this is a peaceful county. I only speak two languages so the only other feel for the situation I can get is in Spanish but you watch a little CNN in Spanish and you won't get the impression that the latino community is behind this war.

>English public is mad as hell at him

Wrong...

Poll finds support for war up at 56%
Apr 8 2003
The Western Mail

PUBLIC support for the war against Iraq has reached its highest level since the build-up to the conflict began, according to a new poll published today.

A Guardian/ICM poll showed 56% of people were in favour of the war...

I live in Costa Rico and people are protesting the war.

Like I was saying about the third world.

Radio, you are dead wrong on the financial outcome for Germany and France. They are afraid they are going to get cut out of the loop.

What about the other countries I listed?

Hey, how come I haven't anyone on this board complaing about what Castro is doing in Cuba?

Wow 56%! Just over half of the country, well of those polled.
Must of been the half that was at home while the other half was marching on parliment demanding Blairs resignation.

>half was marching on parliment demanding Blairs resignation

kaya man,

"half"

What/where is your independent proof of your claim?

"Half"

Half this half that...A population half opposed is a far cry from "unilateral support".

I'm skeptical about the date of this poll, the polling conditions, and the exact question that was asked.

All tricks and lies.

btw, this topic reminds me - for those of you posting who are either not American citizens or for whatever reason cannot vote in 2004, I'm voting for Bush solely on the war issue so I guess you can't cancel that one - tsk tsk

Radio, I was working earlier today, something that I get the feeling not a lot of people on this thread do.

Costa Rica. It was a typo, not a spelling error, ok?

BTW, the Cuban population in Miami seems to be solidly in favor of the war.

Funk, "liberal jew", unfortunately there are too many liberal jews destroying the meaning of the constitution in this country.

"Once again, three "leaders" that won't get elected the next time around: Bush, Blair, Aznar"

Radiofree...you will be surprised. If you watched tele-noticias in the beginning of this year, you will notice that the republican congress and senate took over making this a triumphant victory for George W. Bush. Now, the Democratic Presidential Nominee, John Kerry has committed political suicide by speaking against the war because the majority of the Northamericans are in favor.

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, whom is also a Presidential hopefull will surely not win because he wants to allow the homosexual partners of federal employees to receive benenfits. I do not think that many people would like that coming out of a presidential candidate unless you are from California, Massachusets, New York or Grantt.

Now, when the congress was running for relection, Democrate Tom Dashcle (senate majority leader) and Democrate Richard Gephardt (house minority leader) focused on every issue other than Homeland Security. Where Pres. Bush and Republican Senators and Congress focused primarily on Homeland Security and increase in Defense Budgets. At the end, which issue was the most important to North Americans?

Now, with the USA winning the War, the Stock Market going up again, I regret to inform you Radiofree, Grantt and all other Liberals but we will see Bush for another for years.

RadioFree, if you want, just research this on the Tele-Noticias website.

Bush For President 2004-2008!!

...or North Dakota. Not the entire coutnry is so bigoted as you'd like to think.

That said, I really hope liebermann does NOT win the Dem nomination, as his record on censorship is about as good as Ashcroft's.
