im not in here everyday but in the days that i have been ive noticed some very disturbings things. mainly the attacking of each other in the posts..this is a discussion forum about politics and world events. its not about the posters, none of us know enough to speak factually about much of anything. we discuss, we shoot the shit but we can't take ourselves to seriously.
think about it like this...is there anything possible in the human vocabulary that wilheim could say that would change my mind about what i believe? likewise what could i possibly point out that would change his mind?? we can both present our point of views and maybe just maybe some wanderer might surf in here one night, read both sides and get something out of it but in reality how likely is even that? mostly we're just talking to ourselves..
believe it or not the 3 posters i most agree with in the offshore forum are wilheim, landers and chuck sims. anyone reading just this political forum would never get that idea!..lol
and like i said im not so much talking about myself as i am all of you guys, your here much more often than i am. lets stop the attacking each other like there is something to be gained because the facts are there isn't.we've all made up our minds a long time ago.

a little while ago someone said i hit a "walk off homer"...cool i appreciate it. but lets all do that ok? make your point, do it well and move on to the next topic. we're not changing minds here...we're simply expressing our own. what little of it we have left!!!!

now back to the debate.....

Sfeiner,
I think this is just the nature of the beast ..

come Decemember we'll most likely all be back on the same side fighting against which ever out-of-touch and corrupt administration wins and starts on their gambling prohibition kick.

sfeiner is right, it's not about the posters themselves, it's about the debate. There are plenty of pro right or pro left forums all over the internet where you can go and ALWAYS be agreed with. Say all the lefty or liberal posters stopped posting whould that make the forum better? I know some of you get sick of seeing a constant flow of anti-Bush threads comming from me, but either make a sensible argument in opposition or ignore the thread. I have no problem ignoring many threads but find myself unable to ignore others. Actually the more people say will you please stop with the left wing threads the more motivated I get. I know I am not going to change anyone's mind here, but who knows maybe like sfeiner says, a lurker with no bias will read something either way and go off a little more enlightened. The old expression "attack the post, not the poster" imho is a good expression..

"the left is trying to wreck our country"

game-- no doubt i could not agree with you more, but this is not the battleground...think of it as a training camp. we bounce our opposing views off each other and maybe when we encounter someone out in the real world we're better prepared to prove our point. believe me im not looking for a " kindler, gentler" forum..just hoping for a little more civility between posters

landers your dead-on...i cant wait till nov 8th. thats when the action really starts!
