I don't see any speed no-brainers in the dirt races today. Maybe #2 in the 8th?
Don't know about that race. The #s 1, 6, 7, 8, and 9 all have workouts that could put them on top. Tough call for me. I'd like to see where the money comes in on the firsters. The stables often know in the MSW races.

Good luck today Gentlemen. Mel you on the SPA 3-10 HT? I am in with Ninja's on his account. 2 spins running primary and alternates.

Niko, it's worth noting that the horse you like in the second race today has run on three tracks listed "s" for speed in the Racing Form. She won all three! But the kid rider has to get her out of the gate fast. He hasn't been able to do that. Wish they put one of the "speed" jockies on her.

PS You got screwed yesterday. You bet what I think was the only dirt speed horse to lose yesterday, and with Gaffalione aboard too - #4 in the eight, Favor. That sucked. Thought you were home when Tyler took the clear lead.
It was a rough day yesterday - maybe I jinxed myself by telling you in the morning that I had a bad feeling, haha!

So my losing horse in this last race brings up the age-old argument of how much difference a jockey makes. While many out there say it's all about the horse, my belief is that although the horse can put itself in contention regardless of who is on it, there are jockey's who can LOSE the race. The good jockey's make fewer mistakes, and the great ones rarely make a mistake and can actually will their horses to win - even when they are overmatched. Katie Davis has her moments, but she is not a good jockey. She is timid, the clock in her head is weak, and she does nothing to get the most out of her mount.
Sometimes I forget this. That #4 had no chance under her and here I was all over it. Same thing in this upcoming 2nd race. I'm backing the #2 because I think she's the most talented in the race, but she's got a 1 for 17 bug on her back. I should be on the #5 and Santana. Jockeys make a difference - try to change my mind.

You won't get any arguments on those points from me. And, yes, the jockey could well be the problem on the #2 in this race. The horse loves running on a "speed" track. He's only had one solid jockey on him in the last 10 races in the Form, Carmouche, and with him the horse won easily. I blame the trainer for not getting a better jock on his horse.

I agree but I am not experienced enough or knowledgeable to the point that I can see the subtle bad rides. and good ones. The obvious stuff yeah, but not the difficult ones to call
