Im kinda surprised after all the talk but honestly who would be a better fit there? Yes the mad hatter has made some crazy calls over the years but hes still a great coach. He has always been loyal to LSU even with other job offers.

Well he is not a great coach but getting rid of him this season is not +/even.
The staff would be owed 20 mil.
They have the #1 rated recruiting class in the nation coming into next season which I'm sure many would decommit if he gets sent packing.
Its not like he is going to leave the program in shambles when he does leave because he recruits so well.
So you might as well wait till his contract gets more buyout friendly.
They should win 10/11 next season just by showing up.

Chop,

Miles should tell LSU to fuck themselves. How can you mismanage something worse than this situation? You've got to give your head football more respect than this.

I don't think they mismanaged anything. Boosters & Fair Weather Fans were the source of the discontent, some Boosters calling for Les's Head then some Internet Warrior tweeted a pic of empty seats in Death Valley...what were they supposed to do? They couldn't make a statement such as "Les Stays" as that would disrespect whatever of those ($$$) Boosters were griping, they couldn't come out and say "Les is Gone" cuz as pointed out above that torpedoes their great coming recruitment...

What would you have had them do Enfuego? You're a PR Guy...what should they have done?

I think they did just fine, gave that team some extra motivation which we needed every OUNCE OF to overcome their awful QB and even more terrible KICKER. Barely made it even then. Thank God for Leonard.

He could do that if he wants but it would cost him 15 million dollars to do so

LSU needs a qb coach; and do what Bammy has done; still slam the ball most of the time, but have a passing threat; and decent kicking game might be appreciated also, but Miles is about as intellectual as you can get and be a bayou Bengal....

LSU thought they had Jimbo. He declined, and now the AD back tracked. Allueva (sp?) has no balls.

I think all LSU needs is a couple good coordinators. The problem is Les rules with an iron fist.

The whole situation has been rather strange.

Appears to be what happened....Sexton probably had some discussions with the AD, but in the end Jimbo said "no thanks

Pretty simple really.

If you're the AD at LSU and you start seeing reports of Les being fired, you have your PR team immediately call one of the local reporters and your contacts at ESPN and deny the reports and emphatically state Les is your guy. You put an end to it on day one. You can't let it drag on for three weeks. That's absurd.

Agreed. This dragged on way too long and if they had done nothing wrong then why even come out now stating he is their coach?...There obviously was a discussion at some point of that.

Funny how these teams get rid of coaches who consistantly are in the top 10 and win 10 games min. year in and year out. It's kinda like the people that say Romo and Cutler suck. What is then alternative? Worked out well for Texas going from Mack Brown to that Charlie Strong guy.

If I looked to get rid of someone like that, I am going with young up and coming guy at a non traditional power that has competed; maybe not won big but competed. That means someone outside a power conference. Programs like LSU should never have a problem recruiting. Louisiana has the most NFL players per capita in the country.
