YTD Totals

+21.95 units (Match-Ups)
- 16.79 units (Props/Outrights)

Total: + 5.16 units

Looks like weather could be a factor today, hope they get the full distance in or don't start at all. Nothing like a rain-shortened race to mess with your plays.

Match-Ups

3.00 units Jeff Gordon (+110) over Jimmie Johnson (@5dimes)
Really like Gordon to get the job done today. This is the first weekend in quite sometime that he has shown improvement in Saturday practice and the driver and crew chief seem happy with their car and feel they have something for the race. That could be trouble for everyone else.

As bad(?) as they have been for most of the year, these guys are still 6th in points and are coming off 4 Top 5's in the last 6 races. Last year at NHMS they finished 2nd in both races. As good as Johnson may be today I like Gordon even better. He would be my pick to win.

3.00 units Matt Kenseth (+125) over Clint Bowyer (@5dimes)
Kenseth's Roush-Fenway team seems to be putting all the parts back together after a sluggish start. Six consecutive Top 8 finishes and they have been competitive leading laps in four of those races.
New Hampshire has been a good track for him with 4 Top 5's and 10 Top 10's in 11 races since 2002(the other finish was a 14th in 2006). Last year he was 7th and 9th.

I know Bowyer dominated and won here last September but recent results and consistency lean to Kenseth and I think there is value in the line as well.

2.00 units Denny Hamlin (-140) over Carl Edwards (@thegreek)
Played this same match-up yesterday in the Nationwide race, seems odd. As stated yesterday, I really like Hamlin on the flat tracks always seem to do well. Think the line is a bit high and its tough going against Edwards who is running so well (7 straight Top 10's). But this has not been a great track for him, only one Top 10 in 6 races and also was down on the speed chart in both practice sessions yesterday.

Hamlin has been a little snake-bit this year but if all goes right could definitely be Top 5 today.

2.00 units Greg Biffle (+110) over Kasey Kahne (@thegreek)
Kahne has improved but still not sold they are all the way back. Still some back and forth with this team.

Biffle is another driver who has suffered from bad luck leading races even dominating at times but not a lot to show for it. He did sign a new contract with Roush this week so that should no longer be a distraction.
Only once in the last 6 races has he finished outside the Top 15, has a shot at Top 10 today if the gremlins stay away.

Props

1.50 units Jeff Gordon (+405) to win group (@thegreek)
over Johnson/Earnhardt/Ky. Busch/Harvick

1.00 unit Ryan Newman (3 to 1) to win group (@sportsbook)
over Vickers/Ragan/Kahne/Ku. Busch)

Good luck to everyone.

I just had to jinx it and mention rain. Oh well, hit 3 of 4 match-ups on Sunday but miss both props for a total of +2.45 units.

Looking forward to Daytona this holiday weekend.

mr. cleo, i guess you can pair up what boxer said along with the fact that Edwards only has one Top 10 finish in 7 races at Daytona and in 4 of those he finished 23rd or worse. Not any better at Talladega, 40th, 14th and 42nd the last 3 at that track.

With plate racing you need a good handling car and a lot of luck, something Edwards hasn't had much of.
