It was OK.
The whole "best that never was" guy who had it all but somehow veered off the tracks angle has been played out a little bit.
And he didn't even fail because of tragedy or bad circumstances, he was just more of a bust.
I don't even think he was that nice. But with the right attitude who knows. I think it wasn't just one thing that held him back.
What's wild to me was in the beginning, before the 2002 draft the documentary looks to be funded by espn. After he failed, they cut the funding and the direction of the documentary had to take a big turn. Joakim Noah funded the rest of it to tell Cooks story for him.
But bro you can't look at that 2002 draft without laughing though. If dude just played any basketball leading up to the draft he woulda made it. He's one of those guys that thought he was top 15 for sure and didn't have to do any prep work to be seen. Bad bad bad advice he got. Can't fully blame dude imo. But he had a shitty attitude and no work ethic so maybe you can.
I mean steve logan got drafted over Cook. There were sooooo many busts in that 2002 draft it is fucking mind blowing.
